Kareem Dauphine's journey has been one of hardship, resilience, and unwavering love for his children. After serving 21 months in prison, Kareem has now been home for almost two years. During his incarceration, Kareem faced immense personal loss with the passing of both his mother and father. "It hurt, but in prison you gotta keep that bottled up," he reflects, emphasizing the need to stay strong amidst the harsh realities of prison life.
Parenting from behind bars posed its own challenges. Kareem recounts the pain of not being able to be there for his daughter, Karly, and her brothers during critical moments. "Sometimes I call her mother, her mother tells me she had a nightmare, or she's scared," he shares, expressing the helplessness he felt. Despite these difficulties, Kareem always tried to instill hope and love in his children, reminding them of their worth and his unwavering love.
