Hi this Yui.
I know it is sudden but it is pretty famous (?) that Yui loves "Karen Girl's". Why does Yui like Karen Girl's so much? I don't think I have talked about it in detail. So today I will talk about Karen Girl's.
When Karen Girl's were active, Yui was in the 3rd grade. Our family is friends with Ayami-chan for some time. When we heard Ayami-chan was going to be in Karen Girl's our whole family cheered them on.
Shortly after Karen Girl's debuted, Yui's family got suddenly ill. At that time it was life threatening illness. I was still in 3rd grade, and I was in shock. I went to the hospital everyday, but being in elementary school, I was not allowed into the ICU. I was so worried. Everyday I waited in the waiting room. The doctors said "Lets play music you listen to all the time". At that time "song we listen to all the time = Karen Girls", so we played Karen Girl's. Yui could not see them in the waiting room, but I was praying for the safety listening to Karen Girl's. In the car between the trips to the hospital we almost did not listen to anything else besides Karen Girl's.
The lyrics "So I will not lose, Tomorrow Lets go"... I can't tell you how much they cheered me on. At that time I could not see the future and it was bleak. During that time the Karen Girl's songs, gave Yui courage and gave me "POWER"!
That is why I like Karen Girl's a lot. I wanted my family members to be happy when they got out of the hospital, I played "over the future" in slow motion, slowly watching the DVD hundreds of time practicing the dance routine. The next year in march was the finale concert. The moment I was able to go with everyone in my family, felt like a dream come true... I was so happy... so happy. I was so happy during the show I was copying the dance the whole time LOL.
At that time everyone was saying how difficult it was going to be, and that I should quit working. That is what I thought as well, but when I went to see Karen Girl's and was given that "Power". From then on, words out of my mouth was "I want to be a Karen Girl's" to both family and manager. (LOL)
I feel singing and Dancing is wonderful. You get power to feel better. If you are sick now, someone you love is sick, even if you are not sick, but have something troubling you, or when you are lonely... It would make me happy to think that maybe listening to Sakura Gaukin or BABY METAL, or watching the DVD is sending you that Power to make you feel better.
So that is why Karen Girl's is very special. So in "Legend D" being able to sing Over the Future with Su-chan was the moment my dreams came true.
Today I turn 15. Yui will pull all her feelings into singing the best I can, waiving the legendary black hair, gracefully violently, dancing with all my soul. And I don't want to take for granted being healthy and laughing each day, I am grateful and I will treasure each day.

Love this. Suzuka was in Karen Girl's and did this song. Then Yui and Moa ended up performing this song in their audition to join Sakura Gakuin. Then they come full circle and adapt the song to Babymetal style and the three of them perform it together. Freakin' poetic. Just wish they'd record this and Answer for Animation with You >

出会いはご褒美。現実的な手を打って行けば、必ず自分を向上させてくれる人に出会える。ゆいちゃんがもあちゃんと出会えずに前に出れない子のままだったら、多くの人は彼女を知る事ができなかった。強力なゆいもあの存在があるからこそ、対となるすぅちゃんも自分のシリアスな世界観を思い切り掘り下げる事ができる。それぞれのキャラクターの確立があってこそ多彩な演出を消化でき、緩急のある構成は大規模な単独公演を可能にする。壮大なバラード無しにアリーナクラスは成立しない。才能の前に出会い、その前に人間が問われるなら、そこを育ててくれたさ学への想いが強いのも理解できるし、それだけ不器用だったんじゃないかと思う。そして自分達が頑張るほどさ学を注目させる事ができる現状。この純粋であまりにも劇的なモチベーションと、それを持つ事が許されるスター性。彼女達に神聖な感情を抱かずにいられないのは、年齢に伴う神秘性だけでは無く表現の根底、汗の源泉の清らかさをそのままステージが反映しているからだと思う。

Left - Karen Girl's(2008-2009) - Ayami Muto, Yuika Shima, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal) Right - BABYMETAL(2010-present) - Kikuchi Moa, Mizuno Yui and Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal) This song is memorable for BABYMETAL because Su-Metal was part of Karen Girl's while Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal used this song as their audition material on Sakura Gakuin (main group of BABYMETAL).

latrell Cruz I know. But i think this perfomance, in specific, where lip synced, bcuz, this isn't an original Baby Metal Song. It's from Karen Girl's. In any other original Baby Metal video, they sing. They have been singing all there lives, otherwise, why would they been on Japanese Idol Festival & Sakura Gakuin...They can sing.

Kinda goes like this: Su happy. Yui sad. Yui happy. Moa and Yui happy. Su very happy. The three of them become ROCK STARS all over the world. Yui quits. Moa and Su sad. The show must go on. Moa and Su happy again.

+Kris S - I meant Su prolly has these deja vu moments, back when she was with her former Karen girls friends/teammates. With Yui, Moa in their places, the Kami band Metalized vers. of her song, I'm sure she feels it's kinda' weird at times. I truly hope Yui, and Moa feel that way. They work so dmn hard on/off stage. I'm Amazed how well they're handling their roles and grueling concert tour demands! SU included! They're REAL Troopers! FOX UP!!!

+Rubi Estefany That is true, yes. But I'm referring to the story of how Yui's family was sick and she had to sit in the hospital waiting room for days. During that time, she heard Karen's Girls and became a huge fan of Sumetal. Over The Future was her favorite song and she was encouraged by hearing it. Sometime later she and Moa would use this same song as their tryout music for Sakura Gakuin. She got to join the school and eventually Babymetal with her idol Sumetal and then eventually she got to perform this song together with her. A beautiful story!

+Rubi Estefany I believe that Yui's family was friends with Ayami's family. I think Yui was fan of Karen Girl's. Not any member in particular. The song Over The Future has an other connection with Babymetal/Suzuka/Yui. Karen Gir's was part of an Anime and the Anime stopped after a less than 2 years. So the music group did as well. But they did go to a big Idol festival and performed there with an audience of over 20000 people: www.dailymotion.com/video/x387i1k As I understand it, I might be wrong, Yui was in the audience with her family that wasn't sick any more. That was in 2008 at the Saitama Super Arena. In 2015 Babymetal performed at the same arena with 20000 of their own fans. You can see part of that concert if you watch the Road to Resistance Live in Japan video on their official KZfaq channel.

There's a backstory where Yuimetal managed to get through a tough situation thanks to Karen Girl's song. Satria Hardjono And without Perfume, Karen Girls would not exist. People forget to mention the purpose of Karen Girls was to compliment Perfume as a "Little Sisters" act.

@@watcher2554 Perfume was the inspiration, but Karen Girl's obviously got created because of Karen Zettai Children Anime series. Did you know Amuse was founded by the manager of the group Candies after they disbanded in 1978. One of the most popular if not the most popular of their time. Maybe Candies was part of the inspiration for Perfume as well.

I think if someday anybody wants to make an anime for Babymetal, it should call it Over The Future. And in the last episode they perform this song and the last scenes are from SSA singing Road of Resistance. Just saying, we see many anime series today about everything so i think BM story would be a nice one.

Knowing the story behind this makes the Babymetal cover all the more d'awww-inducing. Even more so is that, according to Ayami, she and Su are still friends who apparently had deep respect and admiration for each other even back in Karen Girl's. Yuika likes Su too. Actually, I've never seen _anyone_ who's worked with Su say anything negative about her.

+Soufriere Ayami had done a lot of modeling and commercial work, but Su inspired her to be a singer. I have to agree with you about this song. It's deeply meaningful in different ways to all three members of BABYMETAL.

It's a shame Ayami stepped out of the limelight. She's a fine singer. But I guess I can't blame her -- Idol is a tough field no matter how pretty you are (and she is _very_ pretty). She's probably happier getting an education... at least that's what I heard she's doing now.

Nope. Karen Girl's members were Ayami, Yuika and Suzuka. Yui was a big fan of this group at that time and I think she mentioned in a Sakura Gakuin diary that her family and Ayami's family were friends. Fast forward, the group dissolved and Sakura Gakuin started. Ayami and Suzuka (No Yuika :( were one of the 8 founding members. Two months later, Yui and Moa entered and this was their audition song. In the same year Sakura Gakuin started, a few subunits (or school clubs as they called them) were introduced and Babymetal was one of them with Suzuka, Yui and Moa as members. When Suzuka graduated from SG, Babymetal was no longer a subunit but an official group so Yui and Moa were in both groups until they graduated from SG in 2015. The babymetal cover was performed during Babymetal's concert Legend D on Suzuka's birthday in 2012. They were all still in SG then. I'm certain this performance meant a great deal to all of them. Sorry for writing so long. Just thought that you might want to know a little bit on the origin

Karen Girl's made this song, so they have the rights. However Su-Metaru, how is now a part of Babymetal,Was also a original memember of Karen Girl's. Moa's n Yui's voices where lip synced at that time, so they didnt actually sing, its Su that does all the singing in the Baby Metal version.
