HOW DO YOU STORE SMALL FOCAL IMAGES?
I struggle with finding a good way to store small focal images and because of this I hesitate to create on smaller substrates. BUT that's about to change. I found a great way to store those small items that meets all my organizational needs. Watch and see- It may be something you will want to do.

I bought a Totally Tiffany scraprack system years ago. Took it apart when I moved 13 years ago. Haven't done anything with it since. It is 3 ring page protectors in many pocket styles. The 3 ring attaches to a base that has multiple rings. Now I know what I'm going to use them for.

good idea, they would be good for nails, screws etc with labels..... labels are the key for me tfs

Yes..but due to the shape of the container and where the latches are located labelling on the sides doesnt work well. They can be labelled on the top. K

I use photo clear boxes. They’re large and clear. Made a box for them. But I do like the CD case idea. Winner.

Now for papers that are small decor 3x5/ 4 x 6 and etc usually just leave in box but I agree with you seen items get used more often.

Lots of ways to store things....really depends on how you create and the set up in your craft room...so we all must individualize things to fit just right.

I came to say the same thing about the magnetic photo albums that the other two commenters mentioned. Jennifer McGuire recommended this method of storing small images. I currently have a drawer full of small ephemera sorted into clear bags and the plastic die storage envelopes that Sizzix sells. I wanted to mention that you can still buy the cd travel cases new for like $10. Probably not in brick & mortar stores but definitely online. I store my stamps and dies in page protectors in binders. This would also work for ephemera.

I've tried the clear bags but find it difficult to access and put away....plus I love being able to easily flip the pages to see what I have. Funny you mention that you still can buy these...I did a search on amazon and found out they are available....some hold 96 or so.....might be worth it to have all the small things in the same container. I use page protectors alot to store napkins, printables etc.....I just find that this works better for larger either full or half sheet sizes. My stamps I store in 9 X 10 ish plastic envelopes...love these. K

Same problem with the small stuff! I have several clear zippered pencil bags that have 3 holes in them so that you can put them into a binder. Found them at the Dollar Tree years ago. They’re about 10x7. I put my stuff in them, then put them on a large key ring (those that are hinged) and hung it on my rolling cart. So far, so good. 👍🏼 Washy tape was a problem as well but I found washy tape storage rings on Amazon. 3 to a set. They also have a hinged opening. They’re also hanging on a rolling cart. Works well too. Though nothing is perfect when you’re in a hurry. 🥺

I am presently using a little photo album for my little ephemera, the only problem with that is that the plastic is so cheap that the stuff falls out!!! I have another one where the plastic is a bit heavier but better to hold ephemera....didn't work too well with photos either!!! I like the idea of the cd holder with the zipper, I have one but have to find a home for the cds!!! I have another type of cd holder where it looks like a travel journal with slits in the pages and more of a fabric see through holder - I keep my embossing folder in them and my magnetic die'cuts which fit perfectly because I don't have many! Great ideas and I wouldn't call your idea fail, you've outgrown it's use!! I still have some of my ephemera still in tins which I used to collect ie Matinee tobacco tin that belonged to my dad.....Avon had many tins and a great way to keep makeup sponges....I have a tin of stamps and at the same time they are a decorative piece as well....I also have an old red lunch box (also tin) from the 50's that for the longest time had waxed crayons in it. I started off with an old magnetic photo album decorated inside to hold ephemera but am trying to get rid of that as it takes up too much room and I already have 20 other binders! Thanks for the great ideas!

So many ways to use or reuse things we have....and I agree ...it really isnt a fail....just a detour....I think the CD holder is a much better way of storing the small items...and yes I realize that not all holders have the same plastic or cut out parts...making them more or less usable. Thanks for sharing

The space on the side where I would stick the label is too narrow....Labels can go on the top/lid.....I think the major flaw of these is that they can't hold all the small ephemera in a way that makes it easy to sort ( lots of categories) and easy to access. The boxes may have other uses . K

So excited to find a good use for the cd storage case that I couldn’t manage to donate. Mine is different and doesn’t have a full pocket because the cut out piece is all the way to the top but it holds things pretty well provided they’re not tiny. Photo albums and trading card albums work well provided they stay upright. I have high hopes this will be even better because it has a zipper to prevent accidental spillage.

This is a great idea! I've got ephemera and stickers and sentiments all over the place, in drawers, in cupboards, on shelves. I'm going to get myself a cd storage case and collate to get them stored in one place. Thanks 💜

So close!!! I use cd envelopes for my ephemera. I use the open face envelopes. They have the round see through window in front and there is usually a little tab to tuck the top to keep it closed. I get the cd crates to keep them in so I can flip through and organize them.

@@KarenBurchill I get the envelopes on Amazon and there are open face envelopes of different sizes for larger ephemera such as letter size and I think 9 by 6.

Why didn't you label those little blue boxes? I label everything, even if they are clear, because I don't want to search for anything.

I had labelled them , but due to the roundness of the edge /narrow space the label fell off. I agree that labelling is key...I find it makes it so much easier to find and put back things...less searching.
