1 Peter 5:6 reveals, "In my humility, He will honor me in due time." There's absolutely nothing wrong with receiving an award when there's complete submission to Jesus in the midst of receiving the award. Kari was humble in her acceptance of the award, she gave Jesus her love and led others to worship as she usually does, and for that reason she was honored by the Lord.

Those criticizing awards for worship leaders - do you ever go up to your pastor after a particular message that really ministered to you, and tell him thank you, or that you appreciated the message? Do you ever say "thank you" to someone who blesses your life in a tangible way? The Dove Awards are just that for those that minister to thousands of people through the gift of music - it's a simply a way to say "thank you" to those who have blessed hundreds or thousands of people through their worship or music. It's pretty easy to tell those receiving "awards" that don't have their heart in the right place, as the fruit will be pretty easy to see. Being fortunate to live in the DFW metroplex, near the church where she first started as a worship leader, and having seen Kari Jobe in person several times at my church or other events around DFW, I can tell you that her heart truly is that of a worshipper. She doesn't call her events "concerts", but calls them worship experiences, and she admonishes everyone before she even starts, that she isn't up there to perform, but to lead everyone in the building in a worship experience to give honor, glory and praise to the Savior that we all serve and love. That's exactly what the events are too - an incredible evening of worshiping our Lord and Savior, with people all over the building weeping and having their lives touched by the Master. She would say herself, and often does, she can't really touch you and bring change to your life, only Jesus can, so worship Him.

so many uptight 'Christians' spreading negativity on these Dove awards videos. If it weren't for these artists, especially people like Bill Gaither, there would be no modern Christian music. You'd be singing ancient hymns. These artists write these beautiful songs for the love and glory of God. They hold these massive concerts and services to spread the message of Christ. If someone wants to recognize them for it, who are they to stop that? Recognition isn't a sin, it isn't ungodly. Pay attention to Kari's words. Humble and God-loving

Other than the infant food it provided me as a growing Christian, I don't think our modern Gospel can say it is better than hymns. Hymns are good food when you grow up. It's like as you go back in time with music and preaching it just gets better as a source of food. That is, assuming you didn't stop at the baby food. I'm still a baby Christian myself so, no judgement. That being said, Kari Jobe and her band are wonderfully blessed and anointed and I appreciate them. I'm a 90s baby but honestly when my soul really needs to worship and not be worn out, the 70's and 80's Gospel do it for me.

Love, love what Kari Jobe said in her acceptance speech, "I fell in love with the presence of God at age 11, and started watching what God would do when He entered a room and shifted an atmosphere because we come with faith and we come to declare who He is..and I say we praise until the breakthrough comes". To say that she is an anointed young lady with amazing musical ability is even a bit of an understatement, in my estimation!

Kim Honeycutt ...That's right! What's sad about the awards is that, Kari, who gave her body as living sacrifice, verbally worshipped Jesus through song and gratitude, is getting criticized.

Christians folks remember we are the light of the world there must be a difference here than other channels. If someone is presented with an award for making them self available to the ministry of Jesus Christ WHY ARE WE UPSET. Jesus Christ is not, he knew from the beginning that this day would come for Kari Jobi. Let us instead REJOICE for the many life's this song has brought deliverance to, the many souls the spirit of suicide have been broken off. Have you ever listen to the words of this song it' speak about the crusifixtion and resurrection of Jesus Christ give Him PRAISE!!
@lawyerrock94887 жыл бұрын
I really feel strongly there should not be 'awards' for christian singers. It is not about them, they are simply stewards of the most high God and the only one who deserves praise is JESUS!

Let's pray for her in order she stand for God's work always. The enemy will do anything to take us away from our Father. Let's support each other with truly love prayers instead of judging our brothers and sisters in Christ!

I've always loved and cherished the fact that people with great voices, especially Young people, use their talents to glorify the Lord, despite their chances in the music industry, which would definitely earn them recognition and a lot of money...I love and respect every Christian artist I've listened to..they truly are instrumental in touching hearts... And may the Lord bless them all accordingly... Having said that, I don't understand the need for an award show as such... isn't winning hearts for Christ the highest honor and the greatest award for a Christian? So why the need for a materialistic award?.. Wouldn't that create some sort of competition amongst artists and a want for self recognition, instead of singing it solely for the purpose of glorifying God? An evening of worship, or an exchange of music between artists is understandable, but I can't really gather my heart and mind around the need for this award show...These are not just songs, these are songs of worship...

I know you guys are sensitive about negativity and criticism. But...I gotta correct these elders of ours: That was not the first rap song nor was Pat Boone the first rapper. In fact, the song itself he sang was a cover of the original song by The Pilgrim Travelers. I'm absolutely astounded as to how original artists and song writers do not get credit in these awards. It happened with Waymaker (by Sinache) as well. I don't wanna assume it's racial, I'll assume it's ignorance. If it is ignorance, I hope I taught you something. Above all, all praise and glory goes to God for such wonderful servants he used for his glory!
@aaronbeans334 жыл бұрын
This makes me think of Reverend Park, Yong Gyu's testimony of heaven & hell. A small part of it was about God showing him what his servants should do about their works and make sure not to be glorified by man. Because you might end up losing your rewards in heaven.

I would say that it’s okay to praise people and thank them the problem that I see is how do they respond to that thank you that you give to them. If they take it and start to think that yes it’s all bout them and they are the one that did all by themselves than I have a problem with it but if they pass it along to God than it’s all good.

We children of God, should not expect rewards or congratulations down here..King James Bible Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do. Colossians 3:23-24 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ./

Come on....the Bible says give honor where honor is due. Worship leaders aren't looking for glory. They are worshiping the King of Glory and living a life pleasing unto him. Almighty God is putting up and putting down as he sees fit looking at the heart. Father is looking for TRUE worshippers.
