The nose job, eyelid surgeries are obvious but the procedures that really concern me is the facial reconstruction. The surgeons crossed too many lines here. Her natural heart-shaped face was already beautiful and unique. There was no need to make her face oval with a pointy chin, but in doing so they made her look unnatural because the degree to which her cheeks slim down to a sharp point at her chin was just so extreme. To fix that they had to shave her cheekbones and further alter her face. None of the original heart shape remained. Even naturally oval-faced people can’t have a chin as pointed as that. SM really screwed over the beauty standard by having her become the current 4th gen beauty standard when this type of beauty is just not obtainable without super invasive surgery. I'm surprised her face doesn't have any deformities through all that surgery.

She was already pretty before surgery but she looks unreal now. Probably the prettiest idol in her generation. It looks like she had her eyelids tweaked higher (suture method is enough for this but they probably cut it for precision), inner and outer epicanthoplasty, buccal fat removal, and her nose is likely an implant because of her nostrils but could also be fillers, her chin could also be an implant or fillers if she doesn't want anything permanent. I don't think she had her jaw done tbh, filling out the chin, botox, and fat loss makes a big difference. Also jaw surgery has way too many risks for a marginal 'upgrade'. Damn, I want SM's doctor's contact numbers 😂

@@illyuzioni think thats fat she's lost though, since gonial angle and ramus remain the same. she's lost more weight this year and honestly i didn't think it could happen but her face just got more v shaped so i think it's very dependant on her weight. the flat part may just be that her bite is properly aligned while now her jaw has recessed again into an overbite, plus botox for shaping her chin.

personally i believe that karina didn’t get a jawshave since she still has her mandibular angle, which is what they shave off during surgery. instead, she got a chin shave, which personally was super unnecessary bc her jaw was literally the shape sm looks for. she’s super pretty now but the chin shave kind of throws off her facial balance. on top of this, she also cut her inner eye corners; you can see the pink part of her eye more clearly. btw this is no hate !! she’s my bias in aespa and i believe she could of debuted with her original face bc she was an ulzzang even before debut + personally all her predebuts are gorgeous to me ^_^

No, you can choose whether you keep your ramus bone or shave it. So it's not really a way of saying if someone had bone shaping surgery or no.

@@user-eu3pf5hc2c that's not really how it works though? they all have to keep the ramus, it's an essential part of their jaw, but the length and angle can change with surgery. they can either split the jaw and reposition the ramus, or shave down the length of the ramus, which will give the impression of a rounded/smooth mandible (eg. taeyeon or wendy). karina's ramus and mandibular angle have stayed consistent through her predebuts, maintaining a short ramus and high angled jaw, but doesn't have the rounded characteristic of a jaw shave. her jaw has overall healthy development aside from maybe an overbite, which is probably contributing to the uncanny valley effect.

@PoLe-dt5ov i'm honestly leaning towards jawtox + weight loss + she didn't wear her retainers lol. she got her braces off around middle school or high school, and thats why her yearbook photos then seem a bit more balanced. now, it seems like her jaw position has recessed a bit; she has a slight overbite, so it can make her jaw look shorter. ++ i'm saying this as someone with an uncanny valley jawline, but the power of wearing your retainers is seriously crazy... she makes me want to wear mine lol considering she's said on fancalls that she needs to get braces again, i'm pretty sure it's for her overbite/her jaw

She's so pretty, honestly Karina already had a double eyelid, you don't need surgery to correct your eyelid shape if you already have double eyelid especially when you're young. I fix my eye lids after crying so much that it gets swollen the next day then I have something hold where i want the crease to form once the swelling goes down. Takes the whole day though but that's how i even out my double eye lids and fix or change its shape after crying it'll stay like this forever unless you make it swollen again. Karina is also super young.. your face becomes a bit more structured once you get older and lose baby fat. I look nothing like my child pictures and i have never done any surgery my cheekbones and jawline are more prominent now around 18-23 you start seeing changes. Karina still looks like her child pictures. I don't think she did a lot of changes personally. Maybe only the nose bridge to remove the bump and chin filler (addition) for a sharper v line. She still looks amazing

I think brows make a huge difference too. It changes the whole expression and also it changes the look of the face structure, so the surgeries might not be as drastic as it seems. The biggest difference I see is the eye and brow area. Also I'm obsessed with her previous look it's so unique while her current look is unreal. Both are amazing

They really need to stop forcing her to have surgery. SM has a condition for most debut line trainees that they HAVE to get surgery to be allowed to debut. They didn’t have to do so much… she already for the concept for Aespa, all they had to do was let her face mature a little more, they didn’t need to go heavy handed with the blade like that

@@amy_ambrosio Definitely not - the vast majority of SM’s PS is so subtle it doesn’t look like PS. It’s only in a few rare cases that it’s overdone (such as Aespa, Taeyeon and Wendy, namely). It’s the same with every single other company though. Hybe has Sakura (brand new face), Enhypen, Eunchae and half of TXT who all have the fakest looking noses in the industry. YG has BP, Lisa and Rose have new faces too. JYP have Stray Kids (again, half of which look straight out of uncanny valley like Hyunjin, Felix, Chan and Changbin) as well as Itzy (love Chaeryeong but she also has a new face and has evidently tampered with every single feature) and also NMIXX with poor Lily’s botched nose. Plus idols from even smaller companies who have also had obvious work done because the companies can’t afford better PS, basically. Ultimately - almost every single idol has had work done both in SM and in other companies (in fact, I can only name a handful of idols I think might genuinely be natural, and a few of those are actually from SM) and it’s not even close to only SM’s condition of needing PS before debuting idols.

whoever did her chin surgery (whatever that called) needs to get fired. like, since she is considered one of the most beautiful 4th gen girls, i try to find her visuals beautiful but her chin/jawline just made it difficult, her before surgery face shape is prettier than that. she does look pretty with bangs though but if we leave that, she never stands out to me as the most beautiful aespa member. she is insanely talented though, definitely one of the most talented k-pop idol, she is cute, i just don't find her that gorgeous as she is hyped.

ngl she still looks nearly the same even with PS and she is and was always beautiful💗 her lower face structure was very narrow even before lol the only main difference really is that she now looks more like an Ai(no offence lol she is my bias) Edit: btw unrelated but used to find her v shaped jawline unrealistic b4 but now i dont rly find it that unrealistic it looks pretty natural actually i guess the kain rsn it looks unrealistic is also bcs her head size is naturally incredibly tiny and maybe bcs my besties have more narrower vjaw than hers like srsly

There is nothing wrong with getting ps done. Personally i think the eye surgery enchased her beauty, the nose job was a bit unnecessary as i believe her previous nose was already pretty but result doesn’t look bad either, the only ps here that i dislike it the jaw/chin surgery. You can’t tell in these pictures both her jaw and chin looks so small compared to the top of her face, it towards the balance off, her face just looks so weird because of it, i can never unsee it when i look at her. Her previous face already looked v-shaped so that surgery was definitely unnecessary and overdone.

to be a idol means you're a product to be idolized while try win some money to ur agency, it means be judged by the industry public and the entire society that creates a standard, it means fight on competition, win opportunities, beauty isn't enough to be idol but it matters a lot because they evaluate their structure a lot to have an idol image and sell better when even Korean society it's so critical, means lies for the good business, means win position to be accepted inside of this dark industry, after all the fame is not eternal but you left a mark impression of your own. She's always been pretty but most of her old features are gone thats why her predebut pics appears very different from what we see today. Every idol had undergone major and minor surgeries to look perfect. It takes a lot of effort to look effortlessly beautiful. Its part of their job. I think instead of focusing on the changes they do to achieve that level of beauty i hope people just focus on their talent and their admirable qualities. ❤

Let me start by saying I'm a MY, and I'm not judging any of the girls whether they have or haven't had cosmetic surgery. I'm thinking Karina got a blepharoplasty. Essentially, you remove excess fat from the eyelid, giving more depth to the eye area and more lid space. You could argue this doesn't really count as ps because there's no reconstruction of the face, added with the fact that a lot of older folk get this procedure for non-cosmetic reasons. As you age, your eyelids droop and can actually (for some people) impair your vision, making it a medical necessity. Karina's always had double eyelids just based on the predebut pictures here. Also want to note that jaw reduction procedures can be done inside the mouth to avoid obvious scarring. There are definitely high-risk jaw procedures, don't get me wrong, but it's possible this isn't as dangerous as a traditional jaw reduction. At least, I hope it isn't.

Some, yeah probably, but a lot of it is shading make-up. She already had the top crease in her eyelids. The bottom line can be done with make-up. She looks like her bottom eyelid is actually smaller. You can't discount the effect of puberty either. The jawline can be done surgically. I sure wouldn't do it. Sounds dangerous! Tgey all had their "Wisdom Teeth" out at the same time. An old trick is to pull a few extra to make the cheeks smaller. I have to disagree on the eyes. Take a look at her without make-up, and look at her REAL kiddie pictures, not some Google look alike. Big changes also can be made with weight and body fluid control. That's why Jennie won't eat salt before a photo shoot. They definitely have better surgeons in Korea than they do in Hollywood! I'm finding hard to find a celebrity who hasn't had something done.

Btw, they also do the same for extreme diets and often develop eating dis0rders from starving themselves, just to achieve a perfect body (very thin/skinny).... when they were already PERFECTLY HEALTHY before, neither underweight nor overweight. Just a bit fatter/thicker, but healthy. The truth is they don't care about "healthy". They just strive to look perfect, skinny and pale. Not health, just superficial/shallow beauty.
