See part 2 of my journey here: • My Journey with Breast...
Well, here we are again! I’ve been debating on how and when to share this news here but honestly there’s no right or wrong time. After almost 5 years after my Breast Cancer diagnosis, I found out two weeks ago that the cancer metastasized in my bones (pelvis and T1). I’m still working out all details but feel good about the treatment plan and just started my first round of infusions last week. My thinking has been: I’ve beat it once and if it’s God’s will I’ll beat it twice. With that said, I know it’s easy to get into despair mode but I’m constantly reminded I am blessed beyond understanding and won’t let no cancer out-shadow my blessings and the immense gratitude I have for all the gifts my Father in heaven has given me in this life! So thankful for our incredible community here, for hunny buns the most loving and kind human, my family and friends.

12 years after bilateral mastectomy, multiple surgeries due to infections, chemo infusions including 33 radiation treatments and reconstruction, it came back. Metastasis in my bones, spots on my lung and liver. 2 and a half years later, here I am. My spots have disappeared. I take chemo pills twice a day, I did 10 radiation treatments also. Like you, I go for lab and hormones blockers monthly. Every 3 months, CT scans, I see my DR and bone infusion. My tumor marker is lower than any healthy person today. My hip has started to hurt recently and I have slowed down my gym visits for now. Positive attitude and living a normal life is key. I’ve gone from wheelchair to walker to cane to heels and back. I’m at flats for now because of the hip pain but planning to go back to heels and dancing. I’m soon to be 71 😊 good luck to you, it is definitely tough, but we can do it! 💝

Some people make it and some don’t. My niece died in January of this year. She went fast but my step daughter has been fighting for 2 years now. It keeps coming back. After surgeries and chemo. It’s hard to say why some people live a long time and others don’t. It has nothing to do with being strong or fighting. My niece was strong and so is my step daughter.

You are very inspiring! My sister first got breast cancer in 2008, stage 1. She had a double mastectomy and was cancer free for 12 yrs before it came back - stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. This was 2 yrs ago. She had the shots to throw her into menopause and other treatments. She is on IV chemo right now. She has faith too but it is scary going through all of this. I will add you to my prayers. If you could pray for my sister as well, I would appreciate it. But you are right only God knows the number of our days. God bless you!

I am shocked. Can stage one cancer come back too? I was diagnosed with stage 1 endometrial cancer in 2014. I had a complete hysterectomy including my ovaries. 22 lymph nodes were also removed from my pelvis and biopsied. The doctor just gave me a green signal and I never went to see any oncologists or anyone else. For that matter I don't go to hospital at all and even treat my bp at home. I'm 63 years old now.

Thats why they are now doing more and more neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemo , meaning giving chemo to make sure it doesnt spread. Even with the double mastectomy unffortunatly its not guaranteed a couple of cancerous cells have not spread , thats why chemo is so important helping to kill cancerous cells thoughout the body sistemically. Is chemo shit ? Of course it is. It gives horrible complications at times but its undeniably a good weapon agaist cancer . And agaist cancer reocorrence too. May god or the universe or whoever give us strenght to cope with this horrible disease :/

I cannot talk this calmly about what am I going to cook today and here you are talking about cancer and metastasis… what a strong lady it’s unbelievable. This attitude will help you heal dear. With cancers is very important to stay calm, stressless and happy as you already are. My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer and was given 3 months to live. Year later she went to Dr that diagnosed her and he was shocked that she was “still” alive and told him:” It’s God who’ll decide for me how long will I live and not you”. Now 27 years later, she is warrior. Nothing can stop her helping others in community with any function they have, from panning baby showers, to weddings to preparing meals…cook on festivals basically doing her regular things even though at times she is in extreme pain. Good luck to you dear, you’ll get out of this as a winner❤

I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer after my first mammogram and subsequent biopsy and scans. This happened in 2016, and recently my Signatera blood test for breast cancer, showed that I have no evidence of residual microscopic disease. I have had countless treatments, and was told that I only had up to a couple of years to live. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this, and I will include you in my prayers.

May I ask where you are treated? I'm stage IV and am at Sloan Kettering. I've never heard of the Signatera test. Do you have that instead of a PET scan? I would love to know. Thanks.

@@charlotteelliot8205 Hi, I am treated in Kootenai Cancer Services in north Idaho. My insurance won't pay for any new PET scans. I still get CT and bone scans every 9 months, and only had the one Signatera blood test I have a friend in Texas that also uses the Signatera test. Definitely ask your oncologist, about the test. I wish you well, this isn't an easy road for any of us

. @madmarlowe1422 I have seen that the Signatera test can tell you the cancer is in the blood stream but not where the tumour will show up and some have to wait knowing which is why some doctors don´t agree with it. I know another woman that was stage 1 and they found mets on her liver on the Signatera and the hospital didn´t.

Thank you for sharing your story. This year made me realize that we as women go through so much cr@p in our lives and yet it's unbelievable that in this day and age we are still so under-estimated. Earlier this year I went through diagnosis and surgery of 2 breast tumors myself. It was very humbling and stressful experience, especially that one of my surgeons (I had two surgical opinions) was just not a nice person (to say the least) and made the entire experience a whole lot worse. Here in Canada where I live we can't be very picky as our healthcare is in very poor state. Sometimes cancer investigations and breast surgeries take many months, and people die on waiting lists, so you get the picture... I watched your 2 previous cancer videos and agree with you that mindset is so important when dealing with situations like this. It took me about 2 months to start getting my $hit together, and I look for more inspiration. Wishing you all the best and I hope that they will be able to suppress your mets with the treatments you picked. I will certainly follow your journey.
