Omalee De Silva Karlie didn't get selected. She took an extension course, not an undergraduate course, and there's no admission process for such continuing education courses. All you have to do is enrol, pay and start attending classes.

Dércio Lichucha Décio, wrong. What Karlie did was enrol in an extension course at Harvard. It's not a degree, just continuing education. You don't need to go through admission process to attend an extension course at Harvard. Anyone with enough money can do that.

Pardon, when you said get in to Harvard I thought you meant... Actually getting into Harvard. Now that it has been brought to light that 'all she did' was get into an extension course in Harvard then fine- all you need is money. Although, my previous reply still has integrity- for an ACTUAL course at least. BTW she got into NYU.

Dércio Lichucha She got into NYU, again, because she has money. Why wouldn't a prestigious university want a prospective student like Karlie? Tuition paid in full for the entire course. Plus, she had Christy Turlington write her a letter of recommendation. Why is it any surprise to anyone how easy is it to obtain things through money and good connections? I applaud her for going going back to school, but let's not pretend her celebrity status didn't play a role here.

I don't understand. Are we trying to take away her merit or dilute her gain by saying 'oh, she's a celebrity. Go figure. That's why she got in'. Ok. Fine, whatever. She got in because she's a celebrity, I can deal. Also because of her connections, I can deal. Not to mention her money, I can deal. But what was really the objective in saying all of that? Is the objective to dilute her successful entry? Listen, whatever the reason she got in, she's still very intelligent, and witty- as we could see from this interview and her other ones. I'm sure Karlie is going to take full advantage of her NYU course and come out with something great. Let's just be happy for her.
