The long awaited conclusion to the trip!
We'll take the Royal Enfield Himalayan from Kluane Lake in the Yukon, across the US Border into Alaska, and onward HOME! Along the way we'll pass some incredible mountains, visit Matanuska Glacier (awesome drone footage!), and even drop in on the annual Eagle River Bear Paw Festival Motorcycle Show where yours truly is awarded a small prize for a custom 1997 Suzuki GN125E. All in good fun! I hope you enjoy this conclusion to the trip.
As always, if you can manage the time and patience, there are some really nice highlights, scenes and transitions throughout the video. Enjoy!
SERIES OVERVIEW
Follow along as I purchase a Royal Enfield Himalayan in Seattle, Washington and ride it for the first time EVER all the way back to Alaska. I even do some customizing to the bike along the way! (Part 2-3)
This is the sixth part of a series of videos covering my purchase of the 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Himalayan, customizing the bike and exhaust with Cerakote Ceramic after only 300 miles, doing my first service, then continuing on through Banf National Park, Jasper National Park, the Canada Yukon and Alaska where I stopped at a magnificent glacier before arriving home.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a 411cc adventure bike built in Indian and made available in the U.S. for the first time in 2018. Very few motorcyclists in the U.S. have had the experience of riding one let alone taking it for a near 3000-mile ride right from the showroom floor.
IN THIS MOTORCYCLE SERIES
○ At only 411cc's, how does it handle on American highways?
○ What's involved with the first service at 300 miles?
○ Can it hold up on a long-distance adventure?
○ Is it comfortable, capable, and does it handle well?
○ How does the bike look after a ceramic coating of the exhaust, skid plate and levers?
○ And what sort of scenery, wildlife and adventures do I experience on my 2,800-mile ride back to Alaska?
I hope you enjoy this series. Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for the following parts and future Himalayan adventures in Alaska.

@@KARMAkazeMoto Hi, I am in the UK - Norfolk. Very rural with narrow lanes and a lot of mud on the roads from big farm machinery. A fair number of what are called green lanes in the UK as well. Once out of Norfolk most of the UK is crowded with heavy traffic and a lot of freeways. to do a long journey, say to Scotland - 500 miles - would mean either a lot of freeway slog or a longer trip using byways.
@steveebee5084

@KARMAkazeMoto
@KARMAkazeMoto 5 жыл бұрын
Are you thinking the Himalayan would do the trick there after watching my video? Sounds to me like it might do the trick, especially if the freeway speeds are not too fast.
@13thearl
@13thearl 5 жыл бұрын
@@KARMAkazeMoto The problem with UK freeways is they are only two or three lane and the traffic load is always at capacity - bumper to bumper in three lanes. This would not be so bad but the standard of driving has plummeted in recent years from poor to appalling, largely because we no longer have many traffic police to enforce the highway code. Consequently I am not happy on the freeway with anything that cannot get out of trouble in an instant - my Tiger 1050 does this so a Himalayan would be strictly for off road or minor roads. It looks to be perfect for that - only questions are build quality and reliability.

To all the people who like bikes and particularly higher power bikes, would you like this or any other royal Enfield for what they are?.. No, you won't.. But you would love them.. These bike have a nice understatement to it on a very personal level.. They maintain a level of modesty, something that will never be striking, because its a relationship between the man and the machine.. You will use it and you will depend on it, its all about the journey as far as this bike is concerned, not the destination..

So glad you liked it that much, and the scenery. I'm my own worst critic, so It's great to get good feedback. About that 650, I'm aware it is expected to be a twin. I think someone was just asking me if I'd prefer a twin or single. And I must say, I'm liking the whole thumper thing. Has a good feel. But if I get a chance to ride or own a 650 twin, I WILL BE ECSTATIC! The extra horsepower will be put to use. 😀

Thanks Anshal! The helmet is pretty nice. The chin bar can be removed to become an open face helmet. Mine is older. The new model is the Nolan N44 Evo.

Hey there! Nice upload. Enjoying the series. I have a BS3 version, bought in Jan, 2017. I wanted to know what engine oil you are using with the bike?
@KARMAkazeMoto
@KARMAkazeMoto 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Abijeet! I'm using recommended Motul Semi Synthetic.
@ashishpatel350
@ashishpatel350 5 жыл бұрын
You should use whatever engine oil that doesn't have friction reducers or the clutch won't grab properly. Most semi synthetic oil and regular conventional oil don't have it.
@KARMAkazeMoto
@KARMAkazeMoto 5 жыл бұрын
Good point! I always stick with motorcycle specific oils to ensure there's no clutch slipping.

I've enjoyed this series very much. Thank you. I'm from the UK and in 2011/12 I rode from Ushuaia to Prudhoe Bay with my wife on the back, I actually live 3 miles from the original Prudhoe and this brought back some great memories as we did the same road.
