I don't know why, but I found it funny with it just going like: "I know our character is experiencing pain and agony with transforming into a monster, but look how cute this toy is :D"

It seemed like a play-on from American Werewolf in London where they shot a Mickey Mouse figurine during the main character’s transformation.

Much like Raisorblade, seeing Karmi rhything in pain also makes me happy. If anyone hasn't watched his reviews of the show, give them a watch. They're really good.

Exactly she was a jerk with a heart of gold pre mutation and it was in intensely satisfying for her to get restored. But what if Karmi had the ability to switch between forms fully conscious and preferring her beast form?
