It was a nice presentation. One important point that missed about the recent history would be how Sidharamaiah, a JDS man came to be a kingmaker of Congress from 2007......The resignation of Sidharamaiah and the Chamundeshwary by poll turned the fate of Sidharamaiah in Karnataka...

വീരേന്ദ്ര പട്ടീൽ ഒക്കെ വെറുതെ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ് പോവാനുള്ള പേര് അല്ല....1968ൽ കോൺഗ്രസ്‌ പാർട്ടിയുടെ പ്രതിനിധി ആയി അദ്ദേഹം മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ആയി... എന്നാൽ 1969ലെ പിളർപ്പിൽ പട്ടീൽ ഇന്ദിര വിരുദ്ധ പക്ഷത്ത് ആവുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് ഒരു പാട് കളം മാറ്റി ചവിട്ടലുകൾ കർണടകയിൽ നടക്കുന്നു. 1983ലും, 1988ലും തുടർച്ചയായി രണ്ട് തവണ ജനതപാർട്ടി അധികാരത്തിൽ വരുന്നു. കോൺഗ്രസ്‌ കർണാടകയിൽ പാടെ ഇല്ലാതായി എന്ന് പൊതുവെ എല്ലാവരും കരുതിയ കാലം. എന്നാൽ അപ്പോളാണ് പണ്ട് പാർട്ടി വിട്ട വീരേന്ദ്ര പട്ടീൽ ഇന്ദിര വധത്തിന് ശേഷം കോൺഗ്രസിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചു വരുന്നു. അതോടെ ലിംഗയത്തുകൾ സമ്പൂർണമായും കോൺഗ്രസിലേക്ക് ചായുന്നു. 1989ലെ ഇലക്ഷനിൽ കോൺഗ്രസ്‌ 178 സീറ്റോടെ റെക്കോർഡ് ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തിൽ വിജയിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാൽ 1990ൽ രാജീവ്‌ ഗാന്ധി പാട്ടീലിനെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി സ്ഥാനത്തു നിന്നും മാറ്റിയതോടെ ആണ് കോൺഗ്രസ്‌ വീണ്ടും അവിടെ തകർന്നത്. ലിംഗയത്തുകൾ ബിജെപി പക്ഷത്തേക്ക് ചാഞ്ഞു.. അതാണ് ബിജെപിയുടെ കർണാടകയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സമയം... ഈ സംഭവം elaborate ചെയ്ത് പറയേണ്ട ഒന്നാണ്...

ഗൗരി ലങ്കേഷിൻ്റെ മരണത്തിന് കാരണം ഇയാള് പറഞ്ഞത് പോലെ lingayath vs വീരശൈവ issue ആണ്. ജാതിയും മതവും ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാത്ത ഗൗരി lankesh lingayath നേ അനൂകൂലിച്ചും വീർശൈവയ്ക്ക് എതിരെയും എഴുതി.
