What a time to be 14 years old. I was at this show and it was, at the time, the coolest night of my entire life. BTP NLSL played right before them. The absolute best.

One night, drunk as hell, I wrote these guys a letter. Mailed it off, and a week later got a letter back from them! Jared & Chris had some serious riff chemistry, and Scott was just one hell of a drummer.

Holy. Shit...Love this band. Sometimes, I have random music that I haven't heard in a while randomly pop into and get stuck in my head, and 25% of the time, it's these guys.

I love that my 22 year old sweat still lingers in the walls of the capitol theatre all these years later. When a show is played there today the walls absorb more. The capitol theatre is a freaking musical induced sweat time capsule! A way better venue than vortex. That place oozes passion of generations of thurston counties best. Thanks for old school Oly Jarred and others. We are all locals under that roof!

I was at this show, drove 300 miles n slept in a car for a week with 4 other dudes, totally worth it. Oly was so epic back then.

The only time I saw them was in Lexington, ky the Saturday of Halloween weekend. Must've been 96 or 97. Goddamn, they were ferocious...

Went to this yoyo, to see rye coalition (who backed out late....fuckers!) and was initially disappointed. Had to "settle" and see karp instead. I'd say that worked out for me :)

If anyone is trying to find some modern bands with this sound, check out the band Whores. They have an extremely similar feel to Karp

Where is this sample from?

80's and 90's days of tuning on stage, bass to guitar or vise versa. How well your ear could manage through all the noise and kaus created part of a bands sound. Every ones tuning was a little different, a little off. Now we just use a box, back then only major label guys had a strobe tuner now you get a mini tuner for ten bucks...Think that might be why everyone sounds the same now.. or maybe i'm just a old guy looking back at the 80's and 90's as the last stand, the last middle finger to the system before we were wooed away by tecno and rap auto tune and mindless chirping away as they tore down our angst and sold the pieces to the ones that couldn't see them as the whore wolves they were. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
