Ah just got back from the festival myself, it's my third time going, great to hear your thoughts and feelings. I tried to get in that Lighthouse screening too but it was too full. 2 hours in the rain for nothing:(

Just to clarify: the black badge is just very regular festival attendee. Colors yellow, blue, pink, pink with yellow dot and finally white are for press and range from standard to "vip" in this order.

7:20 The movie played on the beach was Les Nuls' La Cité de la Peur (The city of terror) and it's considered to be one of the best french comedies of all time ! I recommend you that film so much, it's so fun !

You should check out the cinematography film festival, Camerimage, in Poland. It's a great atmosphere and very low profile, which makes the whole event feel very humble and easy going. Talked to many fantastic cinematographers there last November! I highly recommend it!

i was shocked to find out people didnt like beanpole when i first saw it in 2020 i was so blown away by it and never heard anyone elses others opinions until recently when i went on letterboxd and find out a lot of people were underwhelmed by it.

I hoped you'd see And Then we Danced. It's a movie about a gay guy in Georgian national dancing. Georgia is a really small country in Europe. I think this is a big movie because Georgia is divided into two groups; really homophobic traditional men and liberal people, there's no middle ground. Obviously, homophobes hold a majority and that's why the backlash of this movie is huge here. I'm just really interested what you would think and it'd make me really happy if you saw it. P.s there are a lot more Georgian movies that I'd call masterpieces. A few have been nominated for oscars so idk maybe you'd be interested in seeing some of them.

Little joe sucked! Invasion of the body snatchers meets the happening. Also, the lighthouse is great! It felt like the story of Prometheus but it makes you feel like you’re going crazy while watching. That aspect ratio and color palette very reminiscent of German expressionism. I’m a big fan of yours, glad you enjoyed Cannes as much as I did
