In this weeks episode we leave Normanton and head north to Karumba! We encounter big crocs big fish and enjoy some amazing sunsets!

Actually that is a average black jew fish.... for anywhere in the gulf...

Yeah mate tried up Ship Creek but kept dropping them so we ended up fishing the drains in the main river. We had an absolute ball!

I was standing on the main road , heading to the Sunset Tavern... standing on the bitumen, flicking lures into a flooded drain near the dump... the first time I caught a Barra in Karumba... and there was that many fish there, they were pushing each other away from the lure... you could have walked across the flooded drain, with out getting your feet wet.... went to same spot next day, same time..... it was completely dead as it normally is...

Well the reason all the old guys are struggling to catch anything in their little tiny around Karumba... is that none of them are locals, they are all Grey Nomads.(TOURISTS)... Karumba is know different fishing to any other place in Australia..... if you want to catch big fish consistently ,every time you go fishing, you have to put in time and effort, to learn the area..... only once in ten years, I went for a lure flick off the Karumba point boat ramp and caught a dozen Barra from 90cm to 110cm. In just a couple hours, but they were thick that day... and a rare occurrence at that spot..

For the Jew fish we used strips of mullet I caught in the cast net 👌🏻
