Pike and Scanlan took the broom. Travis really loves Grog. And Grog is mechanically an asshole which adds even more flavour to his acting. I just love Vox Machina.

Given he as Grog once chose to "disarm" a room full of traps by slapping Trinket on the butt with the flat of his axe so he ran in and set them off (which as I recall left him sleeping on the couch for the night) and him (again, as Grog) deliberately playing with the fact that his character wasn't so hot with counting to frivolously spend money and haggle UP instead of DOWN specifically to upset Laura-as-Vex, you're not wrong - that man DOES like to play with his own life where his wife is concerned.

That's not really breaking the fourth wall, Vex kissed him in-character. It would just be weird if the actors did that and they weren't together.

Tbh everyone are so cool and casual with each other in and out of character i could not tell who were irl couples when I first discovered them. They are all such good friends and I love it.

What makes this even better is when Vax expresses his interest in Keyleth down the line, Vex does everything she can to push the two together. And keep Kashaw away when he and Zara come back. It’s great.

Makes me wonder if the LOVM series adapts the guest characters, if they’d give Thorbir some kind of effectiveness and dignity, or if they’d just lean into the dice curse and have him stepping on rakes the whole time.

I love that at one point Kashaw starts wondering if Thorbir is just all talk since he's done absolutely nothing the entire mission and starts questioning if the Slayer's Take is even worth joining after seeing Thorbir "in action"

I'm not sure they'll cover this part. This technically took place before the Briarwood arc (that arc actually begins immediately after the party returns to Tal'Dorei following the Slayer's Take episodes). Things shift around in the animated adaptation so they might reference it later, but the only reference to this adventure so far has been Vax's tale about the strangest kill they've made, his kill being Hotis the Rakshasa that he hunted in these episodes.

@@VegetaLF7 they may fuse the first vasselheim arc with vms second visit to vasselheim (to find out about vestiges) and at least zahra and kash are kind of important to that storyline. so it might happen in some form.

@@jakobmaximilianriedl1013 Yeah, it's not entirely outside of the realm of possibility. Like I said, things have changed already, events unfolding in a different way, so it's possible we'll get at least another reference to them, so we'll see once Season 2 comes along. Here's hoping for more than that though, one season is not enough to do the Chroma Conclave arc justice, much less Vecna, much less having room for other side things. We know 2 is already confirmed, I'm hoping for at least 4 seasons minimum.

@@VegetaLF7 And besides, I think including THIS moment would feel rather tasteless, as it's just inappropriate. Funny back in the day, not so much anymore. Much like how they did NOT have Vax and Keyleth kiss in Season 1, I feel like they want to give her more agency in LoVM.

So C1 starts off mid-adventure since it's a direct continuation of their home game rather than starting a new campaign like we get with C2 and C3. At the end of that quest the party recovers an artifact and delivers it to a city for safekeeping. While they're there the city comes under attack by a monster and Vox Machina heroically leaps to the defense of the city, killing the creature. Only it turns out this city has a monster hunting guild called the Slayer's Take and there was a contract out on that creature they killed. Since VM killed it without a contract, they technically broke the law, though the Take is understanding enough that they offer a deal: do a legitimate contract with them and they can retroactively be considered Slayer's Take members and thus clearing their names from the crime of stealing a contract from the legitimate hunters. So the party agrees and is forced to split up into two groups to hunt two different targets, each group accompanied by a full fledged Take member as well as another hopeful. This video picks up at the tail end of the 2nd group's adventure with Kashaw (the other hopeful who joins the group that Keyleth, Vax, and Tiberius were with) led by Thorbir. During their mission (each group had 2 episodes for their mission) Kashaw had been irritated by and developed a bit of a crush on Keyleth, so in his own fashion he decides to kiss her before he leaves at the very end. The rest of the video is simply the two halves of Vox Machina recounting their respective missions after they reunited.

@@LordAaronus The only C2 reference here is Henry Crabgrass and without spoiling anything major his whole gimmick is demanding that someone ask for consent before doing things.

I always want to share that Henry clip with people, but it takes place at a MAJOR spoiler for C2, so I never can. But Henry is so great.

@@piperbird7193 so true, it’s such a shame. The animatics out there for the scene are so great, but I’d imagine they have unfortunately led to many a spoiler. It’s hard to even emphasize strongly enough how big of a clinchpin moment for the story Henry shows up in. DOUBLY so if you were somehow early enough in C2 before the other event it relates to takes place.

This preceded the Briarwood arc in C1. In LoVM, eh maybe. They seem to be streamlining a lot of stuff so it might get forgotten.

The Briarwood arc happens afterwards, but there's a chance they may add this into the show in a different chronological order. Unfortunately it doesn't impact much (though the allies they make do) so it may be cut or resigned to flashbacks.
