This is ingredients wise authentic recipe. Usage of ginger powder,fennel seed powder, asafoetida everything is perfect. Except the oil. Authentic recipe uses mustard oil .. Love this recipe.

I tried it and it came out mind blowing awesome.... my children just loved it. I improvised a little bit and add crushed cashewnut as well to thicken the gravy.

Thank you for this quick recipe. You just made it look so easy and quick. I am recently following a vedic way to cook where Sadashiva has given the satvik recipes and how to cook them. The book is called Bhaga Shastra. It is an amazing book. The food that is cooked as per Bhaga Shastra will never make anyone gain weight doesn't matter how much anyone eats. It activates the jatharagni, the stomach fire and whatever has eaten gets digested.

I would suggest using tongs to flip potatoes in oil. Also I would quarter potatoes for more fried surface area adding flavor and texture. Awesome recipe! I will enjoy soon as a NEW vegetarian. Saving as a favorite.

I made this a few days ago and it was a big hit ! I used way less chilli powder though as I disagree that the red paste doesn't have much heat. It was about the level of a madras I'd say, using the paste and just 1 tsp chilli powder.

Growing up my best friends parents had lived in India most their lives and I really loved their food. I've been craving it something crazy lately, even after 20yrs! I'm going to try this and if anyone can make more suggestions, that would be wonderful. We like heat, meat, vegetarian..everything really so all suggestions are appreciated. :) Great video.

Garima Tiwari no taste will be quite different.. i myself have tried. That will be way too spicy, bitter and not palatable.

the kashmiri dum aloo that i have tried in various restraunts are slightly yellow in colour and sweet with a lot of dry fruits... no doubt the recipe is great ... but why haven't you added the sweet touch to this?

I made the same recipe again & my Dum Aloo turned out to be really yum & much better than last time. I used fresh curd this time so it was perfect & not khatta.

kashmiri chilly powder are used for color and they are not very spicy in taste...

Thank you for a good video of great recipe,but i just wonder how the boiled cooked potatoes were deep fried cooked in the gravy for so long time and still managed the shape not even without sign a of what those potatoes came through till the end of the dish and looked like river side big pebbles.100% marks for the potatoes managed.cheers and let be more recipes to shared.
