I have several KK spinning reels. All of them great.

@@miguelbarrero5572 Try a new Daiwa or Shimano spinning reel, they are light years ahead of KK.

@@baseballgod8065 yes they are better but much more expensive. The KK reels I have all cost me less than $30. So far no issues and I'm very happy.

@@baseballgod8065 how can you even compare Shimano to KK? Shimano reels are very high end and made to last forever and therefore cost as much. KK reels are cheap entry level reels for beginners. my father has a Shimano Reel that is almost 17 years old and still going strong, back when he got it that Reel cost him more than 400$ - adjusted for inflation that is almost 600$... when i started fishing with him i got myself a KK Sharky 2 6000 for around 45$, and honestly that thing is still holding up remarkably well for the past 4 or 5 years i've been using it, in fact that reel had moved on to 3 different sub-30$ crappy rods during that time. now i've finally got tired of the cheapo sub-30$ telescopic fishing rods that either break after a single season or their eyes get corroded after a single season etc. etc. and so i got myself a much more "premium" fishing rod for 60$ which from the looks of it would last me at least a few seasons - SeaKnight Sange II and guess what reel i am going to pair with it? my good old KK Sharky 2 6000. i'm gonna use that thing until it breaks and i seriously doubt it would ever break - that thing is built like a tank. maybe KK's reels lowered in quality in the past few years? i don't know.. i've ordered a KK Megatron 4000 to pair with another rod i've been given by a friend of mine (an Obei Intensa 360 - apparently all of its components except for the carbon fiber tubes are made in Japan? interesting..) so i guess we will see if KK lowered in quality in the past few years or not in the next fishing season... anyway my point is this - some people don't have the money to or don't want to shell out a large sum of money for high end equipment - when a good high end Shimano reel typically cost around 400$ than you can see why most people would settle for a reel that cost a 10th of that price and a cheap 30-60$ rod etc. etc. obviously when you spend more in this hobby you get extremely better equipment but that's not to say you can't have the same amount of fun with much cheaper equipment as well.
