I have KAT Alphas Blanks and i just love them. My most favorite caps! They look great, they feel great and they sound great with linears.

Before I hate on you for trashing how the KAT Alpha sounds, great video man. That editing is insane and is BIG LEAP in terms of quality. Really really great quality. Really great analysis as well. I think I need to retire from reviewing keycaps after watching yours lmao! Too good! You just need a bit more light on the typing tests. I got a cheap one from Shopee :) NOW, KAT ALPHAS SOUND GREAT I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL HAHAHAHA

Thank you so much! Yesss had a lot of fun with the editing. I really feel like I know what I'm doing with the software now (as opposed to the first few vids) so I'm free to perfect and add flair where I want. I definitely need another light. I only have one ring light lol. I didn't trash the sound! I'm just a cherry-biased cherry boy lololol. I'm afraid of what I'm going to say when I try SA and MT3 🤣

@@CaloysKeyboards bwahahahaha good luck with SA and MT3! I started out with a single ring light as well then added studio light worth 1,000 Php. Definitely made the set up better but it's one big boy. Editing is definitely the one that I find difficult. I like taking great shots but I'm too lazy to learn editing hahahaha also, apology accepted lmao.

Very detailed review! I tried KAT BoW from KBDFANS and they really feel premium with warmer shades of white (not off-white). Luckily no smudges on my set :) Coming from a Cherry Profile set for so long, KAT is my best transition for me for a non-Cherry set.

This review and your Bow review are so detailed. It's awesome! I had both KAT Alphas and KAT Bow (Symbols). KAT Bow is definitely a much warmer tone than KAT Alphas. There is a key information about KAT Bow that you didnt cover since you didnt have the set, it does not have an R4 Esc key. So If you are using a 65% or 60% keyboard, you will not have an Esc key with your number row, and instead will need to use tilde keycap instead. Just to point out as I learnt this the hard way.

@@CaloysKeyboards Yea, the one reason that made me sell it off almost immediately since I can’t accept the non-aligned Esc key. I do agree with you that the icon mods are nicer than KAT Alpha

i’m assuming the alphas match better with an e-white case, but is there really that big a difference with the kat bows? i’m leaning towards getting the bows because of the symbols and the extra mac keys but the warmer white has me put off 🧐

@@myouyos The difference is quite obvious since KAT Alphas is WS1 which is cool "sterile" white, while KAT BOW is WS2 which is the warm "yellow" white. It will come down to preference. Personally, the KAT BOW is good, with the deal break being that it does not have a R4 Esc Key, which means it won't fit 60-65% boards unless you dont mind using tilde key as Esc.

The legending on mine was crisp but I agree that the arrow keys are terrible. Not a huge fan also of how slick it is, would've preferred texture.

Hmm I think I still prefer Cherry but that's probably just because I've used it for a lot longer. KAT is pretty comfortable for typing too.

well I'm one of the people that prefer the thock sound that this profile made, and yes I had smudge after using for months but weirdly it's on Alt key. Not on alphanumeric that I use most of the time. But this profile is my very end game from the shape itself, it's very comfortable for me even more comfortable than Cherry. I've used cherry for years, and finally found an endgame keycaps profile on this KAT. This KAT alpha made me to order GB of KAT Cyberspace, which should be shipped this August. The font design is IMO not really my style but also not that bad, but this is the cheapest ready stock KAT profile to try, and boy am I glad I tried this profile.

about the texture... is it really completely glossy smooth, like 0% of any grainyness that's usually expected from a PBT? or would it still have a bit of matte or grainy characteristic?

I've already sold this but yes, it's got no texture. I've owned PBT sets from HK Gaming, Geekark, KAT, and ePBT, and only ePBT has a significant texture.

it's smooth. Same as DCP MiTo Pegaso from Drop keycaps set. They don't look glossy, but feel smooth

Why is this keycap so similar to honey milk bc i have honey milk and if you dont use the yellow accent of novelties it looks just like this like look at the font they are so similar

It's a pretty common legending style. Most SA sets regardless of manufacturer (SP, Domikey, Maxkey) use it. Akko's ASA sets use it although with symbol modifiers. Dunno who was first lol

had a KAT set with smudged legends. As much as I love the profile, the smudge triggered my OCD so I had to let go of it.

@@CaloysKeyboards KAT alphas. Saw a listing for KAT dice in the local market with the same issue. I think the problem only persists with their white sets, other KAT sets don't seem to have the same issues as these.
