Oss! Excellent demonstration, Sensei. I found the hardest part of this kata was the 45 degree turns. Picked it up quicker than Heian Shodan though.

I do this kata in my dojo but it’s a little bit different in my dojo: Instead of Heian Nidan, in my dojo it’s called Pinan Shodan and here are the differences: when you start the kata, both your feet aren’t flat, half of the from foot is raised like your standing on ur tippy toes, and the back is just normal and instead of putting your arm next to ur elbow the next move and punching, you do a inside, outside block, with your other hand curled up into a fist under the elbow and you do the same thing for the other side, after he did the side kick, he went straight into from stance, but for me, when i finish that, you hop into cat stance (the stance i was talking about at the start of this comment) then you do the sword hand block like he did but at the end i do that but without a scream, when he got to the part when he did punch, block, kick, there’s a scream on the kick and there’s no scream at the last block so there’s the diff between my dojo and the traditional kata ;)

Hey Jason Sensei, you have very clean technique and this looks beautiful when you show it all a bit slower than usual. You do ur katas very well but I do have one suggestion. It is that I wouldn't recommend that you post too many of these slower version katas. This is bc these Katas are meant to be executed at normal speed and you do that super well. The thing is that I'm getting concerned bc so far, people in the comments seem to be writing kinda negative things about this video and the full one on ur channel saying that these moves are "ineffective"when that's absolutely wrong to say. My point is to continue posting ur amazingly executed katas at normal speed since if you post the ones at slow speed people are gonna write stuff that aren't true since some people who don't have much experience in Karate think these moves are ineffective but they don't realize that these moves do have a practical application which can absolutely be used in a real fight. I just wrote all this bc I get worried about you when ur videos get some hate comments bc PEOPLE SHOULDN'T BE HATING ON YOU. You are a GREAT person and it's bc of you that I also became a Sensei with a double black belt. How do you deal with these haters though?! I'm curious about how you stay so calm whenever this happens.

Hi brother thank you for your concern. I understand what you are saying, and I do think it is important to show the normal speed, but there is a lot of people who are just learning and like to see the movements performed at a slower speed. If they want to judge me it does not matter to me. I know myself, this is the most important thing. I deal with hateful or uneducated comments by literally not dealing with them. I used to respond to everything and get very defensive. But in life you can never prove yourself to everyone in the world. Just prove to yourself is the most important!

@@ULTIMATEKARATEOFFICIAL You are a true Sensei! Thank you so much for ur advice and I will definitely use it! It is just such a shame that their has to be haters in this world but ur absolutely right. I guess a huge mistake I've been making with dealing with haters is being too defensive. OSS!

A word of advice, don't listen to people who have never done what you are trying to do. 90% of people along your path do not truly wish success for you.

It really depends on the school, don't think about the name too much, think about the movement.

To know yourself. To know the techniques of the art, from training. It would seem technique is lost, like a bad rumor, through too many sources. Knife hand block, comes from ear. Back elbow strike is way too low. Front punch not so extended and should twist at the strike point. Foot and hip, not muscles, make strike effective. What you are doing here is pretty but in effective, if you were to apply, in combat.
