Instead of giving you just a snippet of audio, we decided to give you a "lyric video" for a FULL song also showcasing some of the exquisite artwork to be found inside the album. We hope you will enjoy one of many diverse and differerent sides found on Dead End Kings by starting off with 'Dead Letters', one the most heavy and proggressive songs to be found on the album and certainly a new live classic. That intro is one of the most bone-chilling, heaviest intro's I've ever heard from any band. The synth's really add to it, I'm glad they're making it a bigger part of their music.

just from a few comments, i can see this band gaining a lot of new fans with the release of this album, and that makes me proud to have been a long time Katatonia addict. this is a band that has deserved a large and vast following, and its great to see so many new people coming in. love this song, oozing from prog and a strong musical idea. this album sounds like its going to be a haunting act of beauty.

One important thing to consider is that inspiration has to come from somewhere. It doesn't manifest out of nothingness. It's okay if a band sounds similar to another band. Surely Tool fans have noticed the similarity between the Tool song Vicarious and the King Crimson song Discipline, and how Bill Bruford studied Gamelan music for that entire album, a styling that Danny Carey is quite fond of using... Inspiration is beautiful stuff. None of these bands are ripping each other off. This is all unique creativity.

Die hard fans don't understand the difference between inspiration and ripping something off. They're too busy fizzy all over their favorite work to even think about it. I for one don't get how this song could be a rip off of something else.

This new song is amazing! I hope the album is more like this. Kinda hard, dark and mysterious. I like how they let us hear the full song with lyrics too! It just sucks that I have to wait till August 28th. I want to at least buy this song now and then album in August.

Had a strange incident today. I was monitoring the low-band frequencies - the stuff normally used by outdated equipment, when I came across a very strange repeating message. It was in English, but it was very difficult to make out due to all the static. It stopped broadcasting after about an hour, but I made out a few phrases: "internal void" "dreams are getting darker" and "blood runs so still." The only other thing I picked up was what I assume to be a call sign: "D-E-K." I'm going to send these phrases over to translation in Washington as soon as possible.

This song is absolutely excellent in its own right. The Katatonia we know and love definitely drives it, but they've gone outside of and above the styles and sounds of the previous two records. The inspiration from Tool is evident, and welcome, but just listen to 2:48.. completely out of the blue, with perfect timing and tone. I cannot wait(!!!) to experience the entire album. God, I'm looking so much forward to it! Katatonia just doesn't disappoint..
