Kateyama Test Days at Imola Circuit, 5/03/2024 - Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2 & Porsche 992 GT3 Cup

This video refers to the first two days of testing organized by Kateyama at the Imola racetrack. The cars present were exclusively Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 and Porsche 992 GT3 Cup. These are training days for the drivers and the development of the cars by the teams for the upcoming 2024 racing season. The model Porsche 992 GT3 Cup's latest evolution adopts the Turbo version's enlarged bodywork, which includes air intakes on the side panel; the boxer engine remains naturally aspirated. With a displacement of 4.0 litres, the engine delivers 510 HP and 470 Nm and is moved by a 6-speed sequential gearbox. Another critical innovation concerns the adoption of the front axle of the RSR version, with double wishbone suspension mounted on Uniball, a true revolution at Porsche. At Lamborghini, the renewed version of the Huracan Super Trofeo, called EVO2, was presented at the end of 2022. Compared to the previous version, much work was done on the aerodynamics, especially in the rear part with new carbon wings. The front has also had "air curtain" intakes, allowing the flows to remain adherent to the sides. The braking system is new, now equipped with larger-diameter discs. The 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine remains unchanged, capable of developing 620hp and moved by a 6-speed sequential gearbox by X-Trac. Enjoy! 😉
Qusto video si riferisce alla prima delle due giornate di test organizzate da Kateyama presso l'Autodromo di Imola. Le auto presenti erano esclusivamente Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 e Porsche 992 GT3 Cup. Si tratta di giornate di allenamento per i piloti e messa a punto delle vetture da parte dei team per l'imminente stagione di gare 2024. L'ultima evoluzione del modello Porsche 992 GT3 Cup adotta la carrozzeria allargata della versione Turbo che comprende le prese d'aria sulla fincata; il motore boxer resta aspirato. Con una cilindrata di 4.0-Litri il propulsore eroga 510 Hp e 470 Nm ed è mosso dal cambio sequenziale a 6 rapporti. Altra importante novità riguarda l'adozione dell'asse anteriore della versione RSR, con sospensioni a doppio triangolo montate su Uniball, una vera rivoluzione in casa Porsche. In casa Lamborghini la rinnovata versione della Huracan Super Trofeo, denominata EVO2 è stata presentata alla fine del 2022. Rispetto alla precedente versione si è lavorato molto sull'aerodinamica, specialmente nella parte posteriore con nuove ali in carbonio. Anche l'anteriore è stato dotato di prese d'aria “air curtain” che permettono ai flussi di restare aderenti alle fiancate. Nuovo l'impianto frenante, ora dotato di dischi dal diametro maggiorato. Il propulsore da 5.2-Litri V10 aspirato resta invariato, capace di sviluppare 620cv e mosso dal cambio sequenziale a 6 marce by X-Trac. Buona visione! 😉

Amazing video, such an aggressive looking car with all that exposed carbon bodywork(huracan ST Evo2). I was wondering are there any rules that enforce that the carbon bodywork must be kevlar reinforced as to not produce dangerous pieces of broken bodywork (from accident damage or incidental contact on track), where other cars may hit them and incur tyre damage, during races .I was curious, because i remember in F1 there used to be a rule that carbon needed kevlar reinforcement to prevent this sort of thing? Not sure if this is still a thing? watching all these cars makes me wish i stayed in school,lol. TY @italiansupercarvideo.

I don't know that much about the rules regarding carbon construction. I can imagine that there are resins to keep the pieces together and prevent them from shattering into many tiny parts. I can tell you, however, that when I go to GT car races, it's expected, after collisions, to see pieces of carbon, usually wings, fins, aerodynamic appendages, mirrors and even pieces of bumpers. These inevitably end up everywhere. I can assure you, especially on the Misano circuit, that you can find many pieces of carbon, primarily small ones, scattered on the ground against the barriers; I see them every time I go to film the tests of the cars during the week.

Eh, hai ragione, tutti i test sono spostati principalmente a Misano/Imola più qualcosa al Mugello. Se non ho visto male ad Agosto dovrebbero tornare i primi test a Monza.

Ma per caso hanno dei silenziatori per i decibel? mi sembrano molto meno rumorose ma taaaanto rispetto il solito, specie la Porsche

Si, purtroppo (per noi appassionati) questi test ad Imola non sono in deroga al rumore (il circuito ha poche date l'anno in cui può sforare) e quindi sia Porsche, sia Lambo, devono montare i silenziatori. Per le Huracan il fornitore è Capristo mentre per le Porsche c'è un kit ufficiale che ha questo codice: cod. 9F1251052C

Bella domanda, non saprei darti una risposta. Prima si chiamavano Test Days Marzi, che è il cognome del fondatore, ma ti parlo di diversi anni fa. Poi il cambio di nome in Kateyama, l'organizzazione però è la medesima.
