Interesting things about Katharine, she was declared Box Office Poison. During the era where women had to wear dresses and skirts, she'd wear pants, and one time a director or producer hid her pants so she couldn't wear them, she instead, walked around set with her shirt and underwear until they gave in and gave her trousers back. Katharine and Audrey were pen pals. My favorite movie of hers is Bringing up Baby as well. ❤️❤️

My grandma was a side chick for similar amount of years. I loved her. Found out some years after she died that my "uncle" as he was called....was really a married man. It's a sad way to live and even sadder way to die. My "uncle" was nowhere around at the end of her life.

@@canesugar911This is 💯 true. Nobody can ever guarantee a "husband" will outlive them. Men statistically live less years than women. Yes, I know plenty of men live longer lives but even wiki shows women statistically outlive men by about 10 years, these days. I say just do your thing, it's nobody's business.

People used to call my mother the Black Katharine Hepburn minus the side chick part lol. The self-sufficiency, clarity of mind, headstrong nature. As a gay man, it's the form of femininity I've internalized I suppose. I guess it explains while I'm still single(never had a relationship) at 31. Anyway, long live Katharine Hepburn and Bette Davis.

Katherine was in her dark feminine energy the whole time . Balanced in her own right , made her own rules , de-centered men and milked men based off who she was & didn’t have to try. It naturally came to her and for her. Honestly , as crazy as it sounds . Ladies please continue to make discerning decisions for yourself , own all sides of you and your decisions. There’s a dark side to everything , everyone and every decision. Do you! Katherine is a goat lowkey if you see from her POV

❤ She stated once that her favorite tree was an oak tree … what a true reflection. My understanding was that Tracy did not divorce his wife due to their religion. But I had never considered that her relationship with Tracy might have been best friends and cover for their true sexual preferences. Their stunning chemistry on screen would have been a big part of this cover. In her later years I saw a wonderful interview with her when she was living in her beloved well worn NYC apartment that looked like something out of an old movie choke full of books. Great respect!

Loved Katharine Hepburn in "The Philadelphia Story" and "Bringing Up Baby." I think that a lot of her outspoken views were ahead of her time, especially coming from a woman. Some consider her to be the creator of rock and roll. Refered to as the Godmother of rock and roll . I have been a KH fan since I was a small child. She was the first female actor that I looked up to . Even as a child I was a feisty feminist. I adored her and, not by design, my life resembles hers. My significant other is an older man, married Catholic, and Latino. He will never divorce and we’ve been together for 16 years . I work in the male dominated scientific research field. I feel a kinship to this fascinating personal heroine of mine. I think to this day strong women seem to piss people off, both men and women. When women choose to live their lives like men and make decisions based on their choices that are best for them, society still can’t seem to accept that women deserve equal rights and the right to choose how they wish to live their lives.

Ladies, ladies. Touchy, touchy. Katherine Hepburn was an actress. She was a person. She was the king of obnoxious. She could irritate the board off chalk. It was her. I just could not watch her movies. It was like wearing synthetic fibers. I would start sweating immediately. I had to cut that crap out of my life. She was a one-note samba. She could be in Africa or Broadway, Philadelphia or some castle somewhere. Always that same affected accent. Stiff as a board. A real tight-ass. Those are some of my thoughts about Hepburn. Some of my feelings about her. On screen or off, she was the same. Boring. Dim. Dull. Pretentious. Haughty. I will not agree that she is the template for ALL strong women, for ALL independent women. I dislike her because she is who she is. I adore the actress Bette Davis. What an incredible acting career. What a range. Comedy tragedy good bad, she could do it all. Bette Davis was exciting, riveting, full of life, or death. I have seen all her films, each one numerous times. She always gives me bang for my buck. Would I want to have dinner with her? Not on your life. I know she was a bitch. I don't want that confirmed. I much to much enjoy keeping her in that pedistal. She was the queen of independence. She was a ball breaker. She was a thunderstorm. She was singularly Bette Davis. People adored her for her feistiness, her bossiness, her courage. She was not a movement, she wasn't aping anyone. She just showed up for her life. Oddly enough, women seem to annoint Kate as THE bitch goddess. Elisabeth Taylor had some feistiness going on. Liz made strong men cry. I adored her.

@@jackmason4029 you have your opinion and I have mine. We can agree to disagree. Love Bette Davis movies, her not so much. Mr Mason, I do find your opening address and opinion as very condescending. You may not have meant any of it that way, but I do not appreciate men addressing me and other women as ladies. It’s a backhanded way of saying “stay small and in your place “. The touchy touchy comment also sounds like the same. Hell yes I’m touchy. Women put up with this crap everyday of our lives. As I said, not sure if you meant it that way. Just pointing out that it sounds that way, and in my experience it usually is meant as a condescending comment.

I stopped watching after hearing that she was a "wealthy socialite". She earned her own wealth eventually through hard work and she was never a socialite!

R.I.P. to Katherine Hepburn. She lived by her own rules.

Everyone said Katherine was a lesbian and that it was a well known fact.

I am not a huge Hepburn fan. I felt like she wasn't really acting. She was always herself basically. Akin to Clark Gable. However, I can respect her for her take no bs approach and her strong feminine strength. I do think she was bisexual but it was all hush hush in those days. I can see Spencer and her being one another's "beard."

Her brothers death was tragic. There were photographers at the funeral apparently.

My grandmas idol, she claimed she'd write letters to her and quoted her infamous answer to Barbara Walters about not wearing skirts.Their personalities were very, very similar, she had that dark femininity about her and stood out from all the women in her small town. They even had a death of a favourite brother (in my grandmothers case was a bit of a mystery as his body was never found). I cannot hear about Katherine without my nan passing by my mind too.
