Trying acrylic ink! Peachtober Speedpaint

Hello! Today I'm trying something new and testing acrylic ink for the first time. I'm using the peachtober prompt list (which I've linked below!) and thought it would be the perfect prompt to try out this ink colour. Hope you enjoy watching and seeing the result come to life!

It's so interesting watching this back as I use the acrylic ink so differently now! My confidence with the medium has definitely grown which is great to see!

Lovely painting. I just bought acrylic ink for the first time too (I got 2 of the Liquitex muted colours and they're lovely). My plan was to use it with a dip pen then let it dry and add areas of colour with water and brush - it worked really well because the line art was waterproof when it dried.

Thank you Emma! Oooh that sounds amazing! I used to love working with a dip pen but I haven't for a very long time! I always struggled finding an ink that didn't bleed when I added a wash over the top, but it makes perfect sense that acrylic ink wouldn't do that. Thank you so much for sharing, I'll definitely try it like that now! 😊

I have several bottles of acrylic ink that I’ve done very little with. You’ve inspired me to get it out and try working with it again! I like the watercolor effects with the permanency of acrylic. Lovely video!

I often buy new art materials and never have the courage to use them! But this was so fun, so I really recommend it 😃 It would be wonderful to see your take and how you use multiple colours!

Love this Katie! The contrast between the creamy, flat gouache details and the soft variation and blooms with the acrylic ink are so beautiful. Definitely one of those mediums it's a little harder to feel like you've mastered! You've inspired me to get mine out and combine them with gouache though 😂

Same here! I love the matte opacity of gouache and I like the contrast with the transparent washes of ink. Lovely!

Ahh thanks Alli! I've always loved the softness you can get with ink and watercolour but I could never (aka was too impatient 😂) to build it up to be as opaque as I wanted! But having it as the background and adding details on top with gouache was the perfect combination. Definitely have a go, it's so much fun!
