TOWL is the BEST spin of series!!! BRAVO to Andy and Dania. They both deserve Emmys for their acting performances!! I loved it from beginning to end, and the finale gave the conclusion of Rick's love for his family, just like it started in pilot, of him looking for his family. Rick and Michonne are the ultimate TV couple!! The King and Queen of the Apocalypse!!!!! And just my opinion, I think those who did not like the series or the finale is probably because they had their own expectations of their wants and desires of the show and when your given a mini series that tells you from before it starts that it's a love story and a conclusion of the characters arc, then it's best to just enjoy as a fan with open arms... Anyway, thank you for your wonderful reactions, and I'm just obsessed with Rick and Michonne😊😜❤️ PS... love the blonde

I didn't give a damn about the CRM, I just wanted to see Rick's interaction with the CRM, and how he escaped/brought it down. This was the ending that the fans deserved, especially after Gimple killed off Carl, which I think was a major catalyst for Andy and Danai ultimately leaving the main show. It should have been the Ringleader, the Archer, the Samurai and the Kid at the end. Obviously, we won't get that, but I'm confident that Daryl will reunite with the group...and we have Judith and RJ as the Kid(s). It would have been great to see Nat join the group, but his character added another emotional layer to Michonne's journey to find Rick. I was really happy that they gave Nat, and Carl, a very classy tip-of-the-hat in the later episodes...I think that was Danai's influence on the story...and I have to give Gimple credit for handing over the reins to Danai to write/produce part of this series.

I also wish we get a season 2 focused on the Grimes family and Rick reconnecting with everyone.

The way I explain away the quickness of Beale and CRM in general, is that this show was legit just a live action Richonne fanfic😂

The absolute fact of what you said is that they had to get the whole story finished and family reunited in just six episodes and keep it from seamimg too rushed and wow what an incredible job they did people need to shut their mouths and enjoy what was in front of them because it was probably some of the best writing acting and producing I've ever seen on any program or movie

There are some things that i need to talk about. Before i talk about the things that im about to talk about me personally i think that the ending was rushed. Thing number 1: people talk about how R and M taking out the CRM is unrealistic when its not. I'll explan: Okafor said in Ep1 that only 10% of the CRM Military ( red striped soldiers )know about the real plan of the CRM and R and M took out that 10% in the finale. Not only that but the red striped soldiers are the mist loyal to tge CRM so for all what we know if one of the 10% saw R and M they would automatically assume that they are as loyal as them because they are wearing the Red striped uniform so they wouldnt think anything of it. Thing number 2: R and M surviving the explosion does make sense. Both of them where surrounded by metal shipping containers protecting them from the explosion. Thing number 3: Rick surving the grenade explsiin makes sense not only was there multiple walkers in front of him the epicentre of the explosion was in the middle of the group of walkers that acted as meat sheilds. Also Rick ducked after pulling the pin. Thing number 4: peoole are bitchibg about the show not being realistic eventhough zombies arnt realistic themselves. Those people are just setting themselves up for dissapointment. Thing number 5: people are complaining about tge fact that Rick was surving the clorine gas. Michonne herself said this: give it a minute it breaks up fast " Its like people wasnt paying attention and are just bitching for the sake of it.

You hit on the exact point I was going to comment on.. I realize that the 6-episode series has become something of an industry standard amongst the Streamers.. But I too, feel like some of the episodes were a bit crammed. And could've used a bit more breathing room. As much as I loved the reunion at the end.. That was a segment that seemed too short and simple? I saw online a photo of Norman Reedus lying on a park bench, that was supposedly in the 1st Episode? I watched it again this morning and found it! It's great that they could put an Easter Egg like that into the RICHONNE series!

I think people would be kinder to RJ if Carl was still alive. I think his being used as a punching bag.

I'm going to let you guys in on a secret that got deleted off KZfaq there is a clip of behind the scenes footage with Rick wearing a prosthetic that looks exactly like the one he had in the comics him RJ Judith and Michonne are laughing about Rick not having a hand around a river and I think the reason they kept that out is cuz they want to show that in the beginning of season 2 before the beginning credits

For me the entire show was a MASTERPIECE. I didn’t find one single misstep considering they were clear from the beginning that this would be a love story. The way Beale turned out to be less threatening than he was hyped up to be, I think was perfect. Mr. Gimple has said that they have material for ten plus years of The Walking Dead. Beale himself spoke as if he wasn’t certain of what else was “out there”. I think showing this character was not the baddy of all baddies he was hyped up got be was purposeful. There could be bigger threats out there. Hello - Walker variants that are fast, climb, open doors, and burn! Boats transporting people to and from France (where the virus began), from the states! Alexandria, Portland, The Commonwealth all pooling and sharing resources now! this opens up an entirely new world of possibilities!!

The finale was definitely rushed and could have used 2 more episodes to flesh out Beale and the plot on how their plans were executed like the first 4 episodes…but I still enjoyed the show overall. Fingers crossed we do get a season 2

I loved this series and the ending was perfect. Tears. Love Richonne and really didn't watch for the CRM either. Thorne's last line about Okafor didn't make sense to me, whiplash from "he was wrong to his was right" didn't seem necessary. And I agree, the planted spies in other communities bit leaves room for other story lines about the CRM, the Civic Rep council and other global organizations. Side note, love the hair Katie! Yeah about the Michonne and Thorn fight.For me,it wasn't what they said that was cringy,it was when during the fight that they said it.Normally in a fight scene like that,the 2 main characters are fighting then,when they free themselves during or before the fight when they're more less circling each other,sizing each other up,that's when you deliver lines like that then ye start throwin shapes.But it didn't prevent me from enjoying the overall show.

I had a lot of gripes with the finale BUT it didn't ruin it for me. It's mostly about what it means for the universe, just seemed to kinda everything up and in such a quick manner. Wonder what happened behind the scenes that made gimple get rid of the CRM entirely after so much build up! This series overall was a 9/10. Just wish they wouldn't have given up on connecting the shows via the CRM

Stayed up past 3 AM to watch and comment. 😁🥱 Andy and Danai have always deserved all the awards, and “What We” was another masterpiece for the both of them. It was badass when Rick took out Beale so quickly in “The Last Time.” 😆 My heart broke for Nat; it stopped when Rick was cornered and pulled the pin out of that grenade. I adored The Ones Who Live. I held onto hope all these years that Rick and Michonne would get this perfect ending, but my pessimistic heart expected only one of them to make it home. It was so good to get the right ending. It’s been so much fun watching your reactions and recaps. I knew about you years before season 11 of TWD, but only started watching at the end. Wish I’d done this much sooner. It’s nice to listen to someone so I’m love with this world, who remained a fan after 7x1, unlike almost my entire family and extended family (besides my dad 😍) and who still badmouth it every chance they get all these years later. 😠 Thank you.

I've been trying to stop people with the RJ comments all week but they're endless. Even on just one video I saw hundreds of comments of people laughing and calling him disabled, an NPC, or saying Rick should have shot him the moment he first spoke. I don't understand how people can watch such a beautiful final scene and come away with negative, vicious thoughts like that about a real kid's acting performance.

I think this was a 1 Season kinda deal.Even though it wouBut for meld be nice to have it go on.But if they make a Season 2,they might feel obligated to make a Season 3 when the Original show already ended.So if it keeps going,then they'll have to ask themselves,why they ended the main show in the first place.Regardless,I thought they did a great job in wrapping it all up in a very nice neat package.For me though,with the exception of the Temperature Ghost we kept hearing.

I think TOWL is one of the BEST things I have watched in a looong time. I absolutely love this spin-off to bits. I actually can't express it enough how much I love this show. The only little issue I had was how fast the CRM fell. I had hope it would, but the fall didn't fully make sense to me. That explosion only killed a bit of soldiers right? Maybe it's just a lack of info and I don't fully understand the fall Idk, but the fall of the CRM had me stunned since I thought they were going to be the "Big Bad" for a longer while. I am super happy Rick is back with his family, but with the sudden CRM fall, it's just a little confusing. Still loved the sh*t out of the show tho. Excellent writing. I just don't know what the big bad is going to be anymore. I guess its the walkers after all 🤷‍♂️

Probably my fave spin off of the whole lot, it was everything I wanted it to be and far exceeded my expectations Episode ranking for me is: (I loved every episode and the consistency of how solid it was was what threw me off even though Dead City and Daryl Dixon were amazing) 1. Episode 4 2. Episode 6 3. Episode 1 4. Episode 3 5. Episode 5 6. Episode 2 I found Beale been a short term villain a breath of fresh air considering since Season 6 of the main show, we started having seasons long villains

Of the three first seasons, I personally liked The Ones Who Live best. I still liked Daryl's and Maggie/Negan's shows as well, and I'm looking forward to their second seasons. But Rick IS TWD! It started with him and it needed to end with him. So glad we finally got the reunion of Rick and Michonne (and Judith & RJ)! That last scene with them in the field as the camera pulled away... I was grinning ear to ear with a tear in each eye! I agree the storylines could've been fleshed out a bit better if it was an eight episode mini-series. But maybe the six was already in their contracts because it was originally agreed upon to do 3 movies, which as you said would then pan out to equal 6 one hour TV episodes. I would've liked to have gotten to know better the back stories of Okafor, Thorne, Beale and Nat. But we still got a lot of info on them, just a Reader's Digest version. (Do people still use that phrase? LMAO! It means a shortened version.) BTW, we did get some new variant walkers! Those crusty, bubble-headed ones that Rick and Michonne were having trouble getting a weapon through to kill them. They were freaky looking! As far as a reunion with everybody, or at least the main characters that are left of TWD, I feel we might get that when the other two shows, Daryl Dixon (Cannot wait for Carol! She's actually my fave female character of TWD Universe!) and Dead City finish. I think it's possible Carol will bring Daryl home (She might've been there when Rick and Michonne returned. Remember the short wave radio call when she talked briefly with Daryl and said "...came back!" and Daryl asked who, but they got cut off?) and Maggie will bring Hershel home. I have a feeling Negan might not make it in the end. He appears to be on the bad side again. But he could be pretending, like he did with the Whisperers, so that he can infiltrate that group and find out what they're up to and their weaknesses. I think the latter is maybe the case. And somehow he ends up sacrificing himself to save Maggie and Hershel, which helps them escape and get back home. Then, after all is said and done, they'll all reunite back in Alexandria. Don't know how many episodes of each show it'll take, but I think in the end that's hopefully what will happen. And then that might be the end of TWD for good, and the book can finally be closed. I mean, there still might be sequels. But I think the stories of the original group will finally have come to an end.

Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes has said way too many times in more than 30 interviews as far back as 2012-2013 to current, he wanted further character development for him and Michonne as well as other main characters to get a fuller story other than murder and mayhem. I'm guessing some fans? viewers haven't done the research about what brought about The Ones Who Live. There will always be haters but for the most part, this Show/season was for the fans who were actively on social media, texting and writing in for a "happy ending" family reunion. If we are to follow how TWD tends to end a season they never fully finalize anything and if its ending on a happy note something horrible and tragic will most likely occur following. With the possibility of picking up with another show or season there's space in the storyline for that. Once Michonne and Rick contacted and proved how dangerous a fascist CRM is becoming to the governing body of CRC it's clear in the US they changed that around for the series. But like Katie said CRM has also secretively planted people to infiltrate world wide. So I can definitely see that somewhere in France. I'm used to people putting hate on any character that isn't white, I've mostly learned how to ignore the expected comments and realize racism and misogyny is deeply rooted in people and to see a biracial couple being strong, weak, apart and come together stronger by both being alphas and having vulnerable moments is unusual in most storytelling. But it's actually real and relatable. Haters will never be satisfied even if Rick somehow got together with Jadis it may appease all the bigots, but they would look for something else to complain about. I have yet to see any perfectly executed series/movie, as they all have some kind of flaw(s). Funding, writing, editing, marketing, acting, directing, filming, location choices, legal department, set-custome-make-up, special effects and distributing a show has a lot of moving parts not controlled by 1 single person and that alone makes a final product hard to manage. Dania is use to the hate from communities and Andrew and Norman have commented about the hate towards her specifically and were shocked and protective towards her based upon that hate. I'm just happy this series occurred and it delivered a majority of needs I wanted as a fan of Rick and Michonne. Again I think Katie is an excellent reviewer, one- because she is honest in her opinions but also leaves space for being wrong or simply has the patience to acknowledge opposing opinions with a gentler touch than I would ever have. Her willingness to just be vulnerable in a "internet" driven world is brave and I also thank her for that. She is a person I would refer to, as a well rounded opinion of TWD universe. I personally couldn't handle Negan beyond season 7 it was too much for me, I was absolutely destroyed when they killed off Carl. I didn't even see the whole episode in Season 8, but watched clips of it. It still hurts to revisit it. I happened across the Facebook post that lived for about 5 hours before it was taken down. Concerning how betrayed Chanler Riggs and his father felt, because his firing was done quickly and they had invested some money in TWD tourism because he was led to believe his contract would be renewed. Anyway AMC back then??? had questionable financial practices. But even for me I saw Chanler Riggs acting becoming odd or mediocre in Season 6 and 7. There were many comments at the time pointing that out. I just thought that extra acting classes could help instead of killing him off. I recognize that money drives many decisions on TWD for better or worse. I think if there are haters out there that want to change TWD in their own image, they should become involved in the TWD universe by becoming part of the team, invest, write, produce, edit bring your expertise, knowledge and skills to the TWD to prove how much better you can make the show and prove it. Then we can see in real life how much better it could be. Regardless of what people believe I choose to believe in good will, and compassion and wish everyone well!
