I still remember hearing this song when Bob toured in '78 for Stranger in Town. This was one of his last songs - me and my friend were singing Kakakaka Katmandu all the way home.

Finally went to Kathmandu. Thamel is the greatest. Hotel Apsara Boutique.

It's a great song, but right now I shed a tear and pray for the people of Kathmandu in the aftermath of the 7.9 earthquake.

Got my kukri in today! Came from Kukri Mart in Kathmandu, and it's lovely! The steel is from the leaf springs of a 1950's jeep, and the handle (allegedly} buffalo horn. Phenomenal workmanship. So, I just had to listen to Bob WAIL!

I honestly feel like watching the movie "Mask" at the age of 13 when I was being abused in a crazy alcoholic family gave me something to relate and look forward to as a poet and as a writer and a kid who was bullied. This song really hit me in a deep way. Music is what helped me survive. This song really is the thing that pushed me into surviving b/c of its message. I tried to commit suicide but then I heard this and songs by John Lennon like "Imagine" and it changed my life.

i recently living in kathmadu. temples, stupas, pubs, disco, restaurant, cafe, hotel, lodge, food, and surrounding mountains are its beauties. anyone who hates kathmandu s/he hates him/herself. this song is great. tired of listening irritating songs in recent 8 years in music channels and it felt great to hear this song.

Love this tune - it was the one that inspired me to learn harmonica. Drove my room-mate totally insane, but it was worth it!!
