I think the song was meant to be sung the way she does it....softly, vulnerable and then more confident and inspiring as those two things do come as you strive forward. One of, if not THE most powerful voices I've ever heard!!! Beautiful and absolutely moving!!!

if my memory serves me right, i kinda agree with you. this is actually the right arrangement of the song. the one in hercules movie was somehow slower than this. but you know how disney uses the songs for their movies. they make it a little more upbeat to be more "catchy" than the original.
