Reminds me of when I used to work as a grocery store janitor. The music turned off at exactly 11pm every night, but that is why I had my headphones. Tinny music coming over an empty grocery store, while you clean the floors all alone. I can say that by the time you are finished, at about 1am, your mind can easily start playing tricks on you. You can see things out of the corner of your eye, like shadow creatures rapidly scurrying into the next isle, only for there to be nothing when you check. This is only compounded by when the lead janitor tells you about the time he found a crackhead curled up under one of the office desks. Your job is not only to clean, but also to make sure that the entire place is secure. Then when the electricity malfunctions, you just have to deal with the flashing lights, beeping fax machines, and pitch black parts of the warehouse. It's one of the most surreal, yet mundane experiences you will ever have. I even have video of one of the blackouts. It's probably on my computer somewhere, if I cared to look.

I run through the halls, desperate to escape the creature that has been pursuing me all night. I can't stop running. my legs burn. My lungs burn. Maybe I can take break. I can afford a quick break... "I-I just want to see my mom again" I sob quietly. Suddenly, a stomp. I keep running. "Please... please don't let me die... I don't want to die." I cry aloud as I sprint past what looks like a history classroom. The stomps are slowly fading, but I don't dare look back or stop running. I stumble to a stop near the gym, panting heavily. I hear music inside, some sort of pop song that I don't know. I take ragged breaths, and wipe the tears from my eyes. "Someone help me... please. I-I just want to see my mom and dad again..." I whimper pathetically before the tears freely flow from my eyes. After a minute of crying, I take a deep breath and stem it. Maybe I should sing the song, it would distract me for a bit. "California girls, we're unforgettable. Daisy du- ggkhh- hhhghh- gghhgghhhh-" I begin singing, before suddenly choking on my own blood. I look downing, and see a black spike through my chest. I touch the spike weakly as it pulls out of my bloodstained chest. I feel blood rush into my lungs as I collapse. I attempt to reach up but my arm refuses to lift itself. I lie uselessly on the cold floor tiles, and feel my consciousness slipping. My final thoughts before everything goes black, is of home.

Ah yes, the memories. Having a sensory overload and running away from all those people forcing me to participate in Just Dance, while I'm over there having an anxiety attack, but my teacher refuses to let me leave the gym... I loved my middle school. Yet for some reason, this version alongside the picture of an empty corridor makes me feel secure, as if I'm alone and I can just sit there and watch those people have fun dancing, while I have fun listening. All to all, I loved it! Edit after a year: guess who suspects themselves with ADHD or anxiety but their parents won't take them to a psychologist...

I go to a pretty crowded school and go there after hours once a week for non school related activities(one of the organizers is the librarian) and I can wholeheartedly say there’s something super unsettling about empty school hallways, especially when it’s typically packed with people. My schools have automatic lights and really long halls so your section will be on and the hall gets slowly darker and darker until the only thing you can see at the end is single small dim flickering light from those weird boxes on the roof
