The line at Thrifty is like that all the time. The first vehicle we got had a tire pressure gauge issue and other issues. The second one the back up camera and GPS didn't work. Then the fob quit working. They wanted someone to tow the vehicle back to Lihue to exchange it. 2 problems with that. It was 8:30 and the whole island shuts down at 9. Secondly, we were in Poipu and the road to get back to the airport is closed at 7 for people to work on it.

Hey question for you. On the kalepa ridge hike was there still a fence on the trail? If so, where do you get on the right side of it?

If I’m remembering correctly, I think here’s a gate at the entrance by the lookout spot, and then we turned right at the next fence and found a gate that continued the trail. Hope that helps!

Hard to say since I haven't been to Maui in about a decade, but Kauai really did feel the most authentic and natural to me! Might need to plan a Maui trip again soon to compare ;)
