It was kinda hard for me but I learned how to rein that in, but in the past I value truth and honesty above anything else. Even if it hurts, I was always glad that I knew the truth. Actually the thing is that Kaveh thinks that he isn't deserving of any kindness at all and thinks that he is at fault of his dad's death and the fallout of their parents. He wants to be treated badly because he thinks that's what he deserves, now Alhaitham knows that and purposely is being passive aggressive with him and "mean" so that Kaveh won't think badly again and instead feel more comfortable. I'm so happy that these two are back together 😭

Can you elaborate more on that, i havent fully read it yet, i only know something about his dad been ng depressed and left and died, and her mom being depressed because of that, and soon had to part ways. And then worked on something great, dori wanted it, funded it, almost failed because of withering, dori got mad and wanted to stop, kaveh wanted the masterpiece to continue. It continued but some weird stuff happened and kaveh now owes dori? Kavehs hardwork, family, house, everything is taken away from him and he still acts empathic. That's all I know

The character stories and Haithams's character stories make it clear that these two are mirrors of each and do care for one another. It's just that Haitham is too blunt and Kaveh feels way too much guilt to try to amend their relationship

no, the palace is dori's and she hired kaveh as the architect. but when the palace is almost finished, the palace is destroyed by the withering zone and dori wanted to scrap the project but kaveh didnt want to so he had to use the remaining budget to redo the palace in its current location and had to top up the extra budget himself from selling his old family house and also borrow from dori. you will understand more on why he did that when you read kaveh's storylines. i just summarised roughly. kaveh's backstory is kind of sad actually.

Oh BOY you should read Kaveh's character story 5. It's a whole novel. It's so LOOOONG and it talks specifically about his relationship with Haitham. A whole damn novel just about him and Haitham. Plus, Haitham does care for him, they just have clashing ideals. But Kaveh really wishes their relationship wasn't so complicated

In his story chapter 4 he goes on about that when he is with Kaveh he is at his most perfect since their mirrors of eachother. Which would assume that he still cares more past the roommate relationship. So while I think Kaveh still forces himself to think that their roommates because he doesn't want to call it friendship from guilt, Alhaitham just simply doesn't say it but does realise that he needs Kaveh for him to apparently be perfect

Their way of thinking are complete opposites one relies on logical reasoning while the other is idealistic. I guess in Alhaitham's case, he finds that he's able to express himself and be open with Kaveh. It's like he'll be able to hear Kaveh's opinion so he can assess if the decision will rely on rationality or sensibility, so it balances it all out, though it does result in them in having multiple arguments in the process as well. He does seem like the guy that wouldn't be too bothered emotionally, unlike Kaveh. But I guess he feels somewhat conflicted(?) honestly I don't know. [Spoilers] Though what Al said was uncalled for, he could have stop right there about his "Idealism" but he really just said that "you being selfless is just a coping mechanism, a lie, to hide your overwhelming and crippling guilt" like my men that hurt, after reading what his been through? but it did seem Kaveh took what he said to heart since it did bother him for a while. I might be wrong though, I might just be overthinking all of this. I just recently dug out some stuff because I got interested XDD curiosity got the best of me. "Rationality and sensibility, language and architecture, knowledge and human feelings... Things that can never be integrated are what constitute the two sides of the mirror - indeed, of the entire world."- from the last line of Story 5

Imo Alhaitham brought up the subject of [spoiler] in hopes of making him stop indirectly harming himself. Since Kaveh immediately put an end to their friendship when he heard that (likely as a defense mechanism after the horror of his trauma being thrown to his face), left, and never back, I assume Alhaitham didn't have the opportunity to apologize regardless of if he wanted to or not. Technically, Alhaitham was right, just way too blunt with such a sensitive matter.

From my point of view, as I understood their story when working on their thesis, is probably that Alhaitham tried to talk sense into Kaveh at first when he wanted to help the classmates that were leaving the project, but Kaveh wouldn't listen so Alhaitham's frustration kept scalating until he snapped at Kaveh and said what hurt Kaveh the most. Then the story said they kept replying to each other in the school's journals although they had fallen out, which I interpret as Alhaitham being angry about everything too, if not he could have ignored it. Kaveh saying he regretted being his friend must have hurt him as well so I don't think he ever thought of aplogizing.
