major downside after wake up you still have all pain and suffering from ability usage strain. means after use be ready for hellish pain and suffering. so what the auto ability skips for a few moment one still has to pay at physical body suffering as they strain on the body that the ability causes.

He should have charged AT LEAST 500 and more likely 1k based solely on what they said. They literally told him it was worth more. Now, they do have to find a buyer so there is a small price drop. They said they could sell the staff for between 1k and 10k, so assuming an average quality staff using the stone, it would sell for around 5k. Labor costs should be around 500 (generously) for the work (using the crafting of mithril pots costing less than 12 gold as the baseline) the guild should make around 4500 off the sale. He could split 50-50 and take 2250 easily if he were shrewd. But MC is canonically a moron so he got scammed ... in character?

It could take a year to sell. You don't seem to understand how commerce works. The price increase is their risk. The 100 they pay him can't be used for anything else.

Most places make a 1.15-2x profit, it's absolutely a scam. Plus, if this is a magical world it would not be unreasonable for him to be able to sell it to some top ranked adventurer for much more than 100 as it's indirectly said that no other magician has a gem that large since the old hero.

@@southgamez in a fantasy setting there aren't labor laws like minimum wage. There also isn't welfare. Him bringing in wealth secures her job and brings the likelihood of her getting a raise. If they scare away cash cows then her wages will stagnate, more likely decrease, and worst of all she could lose her job. Ppl are entitled now because life is easy. In a harsh world, like a fantasy setting, the average person would not be entitled (Emphasis on average. Obviously, nobles and powerful ppl would be even more entitled in that type of class based society). I understand the guild leader's curiosity/suspicions, but harassing a cash cow can scare them away. If someone was spying on me and interrogating me I know I would go somewhere else to do business. The guild leader could just ask if they can send an observer with him to see how he works and make sure he isn't stealing his quest items or anything shady like that. That way is ethical and more efficient. Spying and interrogating isn't ethical at all and can result in loss of business and it's not efficient. They aren't getting the answers they want. An observer will be able to get them more detailed information in one try and would not scare away or annoy their cash cow.

theyre assuming he is stealing the loot or something else shady and will bring down powerful enemies, and then they want to find out because they want to exploit him. I am willing to bet the money they say things are worth is actually a lot less than what its actually worth.

By fighting in most effective way again and again and again, it's seep and ingrained into his muscle memory and he can react without using any skill to some extent. So yeah... He's in training for UI by sleep learning.

I'd rather take the cores as well. The spirit gem itself already attracts problem. If he wants another one he can just auto find it with better skills since now he can level faster with those core. Imagine finding a nuke in a random place and going off to sell it. At worst you'd be killed or jailed for possession or even tortured as to where you found it. Unwanted attention is unwanted. He can earn way more by leveling faster in the long run.

@@guess8543 to be fair some of these could be trade secrets, especially the processing treatment, plus is it really worth trying to find a better offer when you might just end up sinking too much time on trying to find someone to sell it at a better price when auto mode might make you rich even faster, at the end of the day I think he did a good choice because for now he needs to rise to the top while also providing for his family, and I feel like him leaving town for like a week+ would make his sister livid

@@robertduggan4617 if that was just the case, that spy/ninja would have been able to keep up, and probably have been able to notice him sleep walking. It was clearly stated that the shortest route by horse (faster than a donkey) was 2hrs, and he arrived there in 1 hour, and he also mentionned how he can travel a 3-6 hour journey in 15-30 minutes. This means that the power is does find the shortest route, but unbeknownst to the MC (as he is sleeping), also provides a great boost in his speed. We saw an example of this when he was observed mining in a way that the ninja could not keep up with, and seen to affect his chosen modes of transportation when his donkey bolted to the field at speeds faster than a horse could run.

Exactly. Looks like it basically makes him sleepwalk. He could maximize time by auto traveling when he'd normally be sleeping so he had more time on the field. Even before his auto harvest and battle. He could have also made a killing as an explorer. Imagine, he could hike and chart anywhere without worry of getting lost because he could just auto-travel back to the last town.

You're right! Its definately a useful skill but unfortunately it's also a selfish skill that doesn't help his party members. People would rather work with those that have combat skills. The combination of having to work solo and not having combat skills made leveling up such a slow grind thus making the skill seem "useless" compared to other starting skills. Now at auto lvl 4 he's become like a BOT in an mmorpg, but auto wins lol so OP

Also, as shown by what happened to him, he still has the physical strain and exhaustion that comes from the fights, so a party able to benefit from his same ability all at the same time should reduce that strain AND reduce the time needed to win.
