the respect from itachi to mighty guy is unreal. first Guy as a very bad memory but actually remember Itachi name ( he never remembered kisame and not even madara ). Then itachi warn kisame to not underestimate this man because he knew how powerful Guy is actually.

He doesn't have bad memory, he simply doesn't remember the names of whom he does not respect. The perfect example of this is Kisame. Guy never remembered his name, in all of his encounters, until the end, when kisame sacrificied himself for the sake of akatsuki. Guy saw that Kisame had honor and loyalty, and claimed his name, saying that he will never forget the name of Hoshigaki Kisame

Don't forget that Guy is literally the worst match up for Kisame and would do thr best against Kakashi since guy competes against kakashi and his sharingan all the time. The fact guy said he can counter the sharingan just by looking at the feet....itachi knew Guy would not be taken lightly

You can even see him plan the whole fight when he was using Genjutsu to smart it up that’s why “Kakashi said no more Genjutsu?’ It’s because Obito repeatedly used it to make sure when Kakashi was going to stab him and be precise enough to break the seal and not kill him. Genius. He’s the strongest member of the Akatsuki and if you say it Nagato you’re slow, if you say it’s Itachi you’re retarded and there’s no point in talking to you.

*Spoiler Alert* When you watch this scene in hindsight it shows so much! Itachi came after the 3rd hokages death to warn Danzo and the counselors that he was still alive. Part of that threat he shows his strength by almost killing Kakashi easily. Then he confirms their suspicions about their organization Akatsuki and the fact that Naruto is their target and by that indirectly telling them that they are after the tailed beasts.

Fun fact: Although it is stated here that he made ANBU captain at 13, it is actually 12 if you read the LN. Danzo ane Hiruzen made the agreement to change Itachi's age so there won't be issues since it is unheard of that a 12 year old boy gets to be ANBU captain.

@@Im_Not_For_Sale the fight doesn't get that far. People act like Guy walks around in 7 Gates, when realistically, he'd have to be pushed hard to do that. Well, if Itachi is fighting Guy, Itachi presumably wouldn't be fucking around, and he would likely use clones or other subtle genjutsu to bait him. Put simpler, he would kill him the first chance he could, or at least he'd try. He'd likely hold back a lot at first to prevent Guy from using the gates at all and then swoop in when he's not paying attention. Guy may have more physical power in 7 Gates, but he needs to get to that point first, he doesn't just see his opponent and go "Seventh gate open"

@@Im_Not_For_Sale guy fans are dumb as guy they don't know anything and think that guy solos everyone plus he cannot defeat Itachi and kisame and he never was close enough to beat madara cuz madara can just regenerate and he was using eight gates which would have killed him if Naruto didn't save him Kisame would create a diversion and Itachi can just use amaterasu to kill him or her can also use the totsuka blade to seal him

@@allipse8224 yeah, I guess if Guy used all 8 Gates to kill Itachi, yeah that would work. But I don't really care, since he wouldn't do that outside of us presupposing that he would. But that's only if he goes 8 Gates. 7 won't cut it, so for all intents and purposes, if Guy fought BOTH of these people, there's 0 chance that Guy will come out alive
