Yes. I Watched a lot of machine shops disappear twenty years ago. I found myself being turned away for simple press work. I realized like you that I needed to do more of my own machining as our old world is slipping away from us.

Though I'm a motorcycle rider and not a mechanic, I've learned to appreciate the nuances of motorcycle repair and restoration because of them (of course I'm referring to the videos). I also bought the 40 ton Hydraulic jack that's air assisted with a foot control. Ended up making my press worth more now and makes it hands free.

I would like to make a suggestion. You may want to add some support to those so when you are pumping the handle the project doesn't move from side to side to much. I little lubricant wouldn't HURT either. Also, being able to turn the light on and off is a nice option.

This was impressive. I actually had to take a farmall tractor part to the dealer, to have a part pressed in, that broke after 75 years. Not that expensive at the time, but the presses are not that expensive either.
