Hey guys!
We get started into the teardown and rebuild of the Kawasaki Mule!
The cylinders were fuel washed and glazed resulting in poor oil control.
We lightly honed the cylinder walls and installed new Namura STD size pistons.
We had to fight with a leaking valve which will be fixed in the next video!

The dipsticks rust rather quickly because of moisture buildup in the crankcase. I'm on my second dipstick. The rubber part comes loose because the rubber swells up while the dipstick is out and when you try to force it into the tube it dislodges the rubber. They need to use a rubber that doesn't swell up from contacting oil.

They should use a stainless steel dipstick and a Teflon or nitrile rubber. Thanks for watching!

How did that much gas get into the oil ???? Was it thru carb because I think they have a drain on the air box on carb ??

The automotive fuel pump overloaded the floats in the carb. Only use a factory style replacement pump for these!

Have you checked the spark plugs? You will be able to tell if it is running lean or rich by looking at them. If they are black, then you are running rich and might have a bad fuel pump. The regulator can go bad in these pumps and overfill the carb. Another thing to check is your floats if they are running rich. They could have a leak or be at the wrong height. If it is running lean, then the spark plugs will be glazed. I would start with a carburetor cleaning since there is likely a clogged jet. I have an in-depth video on Mule carburetor cleaning that might be helpful for you. Also, your fuel pump could be going bad and not feeding enough to keep the carb full. What is the clicker pump ??😊

The original fuel pump on these is a 12v pump, the previous owner swapped the original pump for an automotive "clicker" pump. They have too much pressure for a Kawasaki Mule float so it floods the carburetor. Definitely need to find a factory replacement pump instead of a automotive pump.

The counter read 2,100hrs but wasn't working, so I am not sure. I got working so I can count how many hours since my rebuild. Thanks for watching!

I measured the bore, and it was hardly worn, just fuel washed from the clicker pump, so I went with a standard size and lightly honed the cylinder walls.
