Kawasaki W650 mountain ride

Trying out the GoPro 2 on my helmet with a cheap external mic clipped to my backpack. Sound is better than internal mic, but I could use a better mic in a better location to cut out some wind noise and buzz.
Fun ride. Broke my kickstand. Met some prickly wildlife.

I drove a Kombi Van up that bit of road. The whole way I was thinking, "this would be great on a bike". Even a push bike!

They are excellent midsize roadsters. I've got a very early blue and silver 2000 model, bought 12/99. Just got her back on the road, after 7 years storage. New Pirelli Sport Demons really helped. Enjoyed your video; thanks Andi.

Andi Rides The fun thing about the 650 class is you can really use the motor, go WFO sometimes, work the gearbox, etc. Our W's bring back all the fun of first starting to ride, doncha think so? I've had the megabikes like Hayabusas, and they do have their place, but it's hard to use all of those motors around town, or in the suburbs. So glad I didn't sell my old EJ650 ( the other name for the W)

It's got a little miss when you crack-it , the first-series thruxton-needles help with this , I've heard KLR-needles work too . I've got a 30-min ride to town on mine , amazing windy-roads similar to yours . Dave NZ

A fine maschine - Why did Triumph not do that quality. I have a 1999 model silverblue and theese models drives from 100000 km to 160000 with no problems and it is wonderfull to drice - light and easy - and you get at smile and a grin because of this wonderfull bike. Drive with care and a greeting and hope for Ukrainaia.

Where was this ride filmed? Love the sound of the bike. Would love to do this road. I've just bought a Kawi W650 myself and waiting for it to be delivered. People seem to prefer them to the actual Triumph bikes! I know I do.

Hey mate. It's the road up to mount Wellington in Hobart, Tasmania. You'll love the W. Mine is my daily driver and I'll never sell it.

Cheers for watching. I'm actually 6'3" as well. Your knees won't fit in the knee pads on the tank and it's a bit cramped on long rides, otherwise I've got no complaints. It's been my daily driver for 5 years.

Booth Karl - Hey, thanks for watching. I'm pretty sure my exhaust is stock with the baffles removed.

It's not loud at all. They sound rubbish with the stock exhaust.

@@kdsowen2882 Yes you are right, the sound is an important element, and missing in the early models of the w800 (up to 2017). I have aftermarket pipes that sound great, But not too loud, cause I think the sound, should be great but not a nuisance to others (that also depends on where and how you ride the bike) and also should be coherent with the bike's profile, and the w800 is not very powerful or fast. Sometimes I see bikes making a big noise and hardly moving at all, and to me , It's like a skinny guy putting on a big voice. But then again my opinion is only relevant to me, so be happy guys, and enjoy the ride !
