I love how detailed your reviews are! While the Ebonit Sport is lovely, the price is insultingly high.

Thank you. I try to them detailed but the videos get too long. I like it. But it is not cheap. That is why, while I am a fan of the model, I like to show it in detail so you can make an informed decision about buying it or not...

Appreciated your review, and admittedly it is a pen that I want so badly. I would consider buying this pen at that price if it came with a gold nib or if it was a piston filler (despite what you said in the video). But it is so restrictively expensive that even if I bought it, I would be too afraid to take it anywhere. Bummer.

This and the Burgundy with gold nib and clip,are the most beautiful Sport models for me!!

I really love the look of the color and finish of the new Ebonite Sport. I badly want it. It is always on my mind every day since I first saw the pen. But the price is ridiculous. For the equivalent of $400 for simply a beautiful ebonite body and finish is quite outrageous of Kaweco. And then there’s the same gold-plated #5 steel nib that you find on a $25-$30 plastic Sport. At the very least, Kaweco’s 14k gold nib on the Ebonite Sport would make the price even half-way serious. Sadly, Kaweco has made the Ebonite Sport some kind of crazy collecters’ item. It makes me sad. Because I really want the pen but the price ruins everything. Even the Bronze Sport is unfairly priced compared to the Steel and Brass Sport. Thanks for the review anyway, Paulo.

I wonder if the Indian ebonite turners like Lotus could do a mock-Sport in ebonite.

@@buck-pucker ..Why do a Sport at all? I wish the Indian makers of ebonite pens could conjure up far more attractive ebonite color/finishes than they normally or currently do. Ranga, for example, (to my eyes anyway) turns out far too many very monotonous, underwhelming ebonite pen bodies these days. Very meh, overall. Doesn’t impress me at all. I have less experience with Lotus. But from what I’ve seen they aren’t exactly extraordinary either. But they rightly wouldn’t dream of charging $400 for an ebonite pocket pen with a standard small steel Bock nib.

@@sajjadhusain4146 Agree broadly. Lotus will take custom design orders for a reasonable price. They have a 149 lookalike that's pretty popular.

Wow! Made from real Ebonite!? That finish on it looks awesome! The little red/brown lines on it definitely look good on it too. ❤❤👍❤️❤️ That fountain pen looks so good! Looks like wood huh? I bet you it feels NICE🎉 don't worry about the price, it is the writing instrument in your hand itself that counts most of all =) I want to feel one! I would say you could certainly have a discussion about this grotesquely expensive pen with its ridiculous plastic cartridge dispenser. It looks very nice. The striped version that you brought in for comparison was beautiful. Thank you.

Yeah…. As much as I like Kaweco Sport pens and as much as I like ebonite. I’m not gonna drop that kind of money on one. I’ve got my brass sport. That’s the most expensive one I’m buying.

I think this colour of ebonite is called “Cumberland”, at least that’s how pipe smokers describe mouthpieces made of this material, with this nice grain which looks a bit like grain in wood and in this colours which range from black to red, with a lot of brown and red brown.

It’s a lovely pen but here it is AU$700. For that I expect gold nibs at least.

compreendo o romantismo associado com a ebonite, mas realmente é pedir muito considerando que o aparo e feed são os mesmos que nas sport básicas, que oferecem uma relação preço-qualidade excelente...

Gostava muito de comprar esta caneta mas não vai acontecer porque não consigo justificar o preço face ao que o mesmo valor permite adquirir em marcas como a Pilot

I agree with both of you. The price is far too high. The fountain pen does not come with an 18k gold nib, the clip is not solid gold and neither is the finial. The problem is, that it is a good fountain pen. I like to believe that all fountain pens are free, even though they are not. The reason I feel this way, is because in my humble uneducated opinion, a fountain pen should be a gift. A gift that one receives, for free. Therefore, it is not something to compare... but rather, something to enjoy. It is a huge disappointment that the fountain pen does not come with the converter, nor real genuine gold. The fact of the matter is, even without the converter and the gold, this Fountain Pen is made in such a way that makes it beyond special... it is on a completely different level than your normal every day Kaweco Sport. That is an intrinsic property of this fountain pen, and no amount of ANYTHING can change that. For that reason alone, this object is nearly priceless... We should be happy it exists at all; price be damned.

I can no longer be ashamed of my handwriting…:) I think this pen is too expensive and unless you are obsessed with the Kaweco spirit, it is not worth buying...

Did they fix the issues with their nibs? Mine begun to hard start. It kept doing skips and hard starts, even after cleaning the feed and the nib with water. I gave my Sport away,but now I think to get a new one,because the Burgundy I owned,was so practical and bbeatiful! Great for sketching too!

I also have the Ebonite pen & can confirm that it uses the same screw-in nib & feed unit in collar (060) as the metal and newer ART Sport pens.

Yes. it unscrews and it is the same as the AL/Art Sport. Sorry for the late reply...

That... Sounded... Like a really good fountain pen... Too bad I missed it. Also, bro I didn't know that the Parker frontiers came with solid gold nibs. You're talking about a gold plated nib, correct? Because as far as I know the only nibs available for the Parker frontiers are made from stainless steel. However I would not be surprised if there was one or two Parker frontiers out there that had solid gold nibs straight from Parker... You know there is a Parker Classic Fountain Pen out there with a solid gold nib, 😊 so anything is possible =)

Unfortunately there aren't many. El Corte Inglés (subway station "São Sebastião") and Papelaria Fernandes (subway station "Baixa-Chiado") and then just a few very small stores... Only 5 years ago there were some more stores...
