This is my review of the Kaweco Steel Sport ( amzn.to/2XIHiVr ) fountain pen. It looks like the Kaweco AL Sport but it's a lot heavier and feels nicer in your hand. The weight of the pen is closer to that of the Brass Sport ( amzn.to/3nQQOAy ) but it's a good deal tougher.
The Kaweco Sport is one of the best pocket pens sold today: unsharpen.com/best-pocket-pens/

I own the Burgundy with the Golden accents Kaweco Sport and I have to admit, it's WAY more beautiful in person and probably the most beautiful one! You have to get it in your hands, start using it, to see why it's such a popular F.pen! I loved mine the first second I saw the seller showing it to me by writing down a word! Then the first time I used it... I only said a wow and dropped my mouth open! It's a surprisingly good and precise writer, that is long enough, to fit a n adults hand properly. I also use it for sketching. I really like the colors they offer, the blue is very nice, the Black and the Green are my favorites. Very balanced inks, with same high quality to much the pens! Finally, the price I paid was only 26 euro, which is literally a steal for this performance and beauty!!! Easily the best do it all EDC fountain pen, for your everyday needs and the perfect Journal companion!!! I love it way more, than I thought I would, even though I had seen the craziness all people have about this!

Thank you for the review! I like the look, but I wasn't sure about the handling. I love drawing with my TWSBIs and I very much appreciate their huge ink tank, especially of the Vac 700R (1.7ml). But I don't like that they are plastic. I thought the Kaweco Sport steel could be an alternative. But now I realize: it's not. The capacity of the mini converter is tiny (0.5ml). Uncapped the pen is too short (except for overhand use), capped it is unbalanced. What a pity! Thank you for saving me 100 euros!

They do offer gold nibs separately, Sal. Recently, they released a premium nib made in silver I guess. See if you could get one and do a review. Thank you. 😊 PS: Silver nib will match well to this steel version.

I am actually looking into gold nib for my Dia2 but man, Kaweco gold nibs seems to have very limited runs and are expensive. I could find only B or BB ones for basically the same price as pen itself.

When it came to Kaweco's metal pens, I opted for the AL Sport which is much lighter in weight. I own the Light Blue (M) and Vibrant Violet (F). I knew I also wanted a rollerball version and got myself the Rose Gold. The weight and posted length are ideal for me and they write nicely. I wanted to get the brown colored barrel, but I'm not feeling the "Golden Espresso" wording on the cap. Geez, why did they do that?!?! Thanks for the video!

Nice pens! The steel in the rollerballs is my real want but I’ll prob end up with the aluminum for the better price and colors.

Please, does the Aluminum Kaweco Sport, have a decent balance or it's top heavy? I own the plastic version, is the Aluminum similarly balanced? Thanks

Interesting pen it looks very solid. Also, love that finial piece at the end of the pan. I've been getting into fountain pens lately and love the variety of inks that are available. It adds a whole nother layer to the writing experience. I never take them with me though. It might be silly but I'm worried that the ink may leak or the cap may come off etc. Have you had any issues carrying fountain pens with you? I was also wondering if you've tried the Schneider Gelion Plus refills? I recently found them and love them, they have a wonderful color and wiring experience. Something else I've noticed, that am curious if you have an answer to, is why is it the Parker style refills are mostly ballpoint/hybrids and Pilot/euro style refills are mostly gell? Is there a technical reason for that? I wanted a ballpoint Pilot/euro style refill but there was no true ballpoint I could find in that style at all, and the only hybrid I could find was a jetstream. That was literally the only one in existence I could find which seemed odd to me.

No issues carrying it. These are pretty secure pens. And yes, I've been meaning to make the Gelion+ video! Give me a few more days. I've been using them for a couple of months I think.

The wetness may be just the bold nib... I have a medium and i found it very dry and stingy and fine for a medium... Its muchhh better now that i made it wetter. Mine is brass. Love it. (Except the nib, at first... Its great now)

I have Kaweco EF and M nib units and they write basically the same line. EF is actually smoother than M, and wetter. I like it that way but this inconsistency is pretty ridiculous.

The steel is not the most expensive Kaweco Sport - that title is reserved for the Sterling Silver version with a 14ct gold plated nib. They are such a wonderful design of pen, and I really enjoy writing with them. Thank-you for your video.

The nib units on Kaweco Sports do not screw in and are friction fit. You can swap out nibs by pulling the nib out from the nib collar.

Very nice video with a very nice pen! but it would have been even better if you had just included on this video at least some of the very nice "pen accesories" also manufactured by "Kaweco" such as: nice "metal clips" to keep the pen on your shirt pocket or in any other pocket, nibs, and they also make some of the best "leather pen cases" that I have seen! besides the very nice "ink catridges", "ink botles", and even "ink chargers"! for this very nice pens! It is no exageration to say that this might be one of the best pens in the world! because of its very good design, its very good quality, its very good engineering, its very good materials, its very good manufacturing process, even its very price against similar pens! among many other very good features! In my modest point of view this is one of the best pens built by one of the best 12 pen brands in the world!

1. Even cooler than the very cool steel Sport is the Sterling Silver Sport. Costs more than ten times as much, unfortunately. I'm still dreaming of a nice sterling fountain pen. 2. Thought I'd mention that I personally can use my plastic Sport unposted. It seems I'm an oddball in holding the barrel pressed against the bottom phalange of my forefinger, rather than in the web like you normal people.

Any decent Stainless steel will not rust. Being that these are made by a reputable company in Germany, you can expect to never see rust on it unless it sat in a wet pile of iron shavings.

The steel is stainless steel, similar to the material used in cutlery. Given how probably 2 forks worth of SS went into making this pen, including the SS nib as well, it’s hard to justify the $120 for it, compared to $1 for two forks lol I guess Kaweco figured out how dumb fountain pen zombies are these days lolll
