this run felt like he was the modern day jordan. how he attacked the midrange on offense and guarded great player after great player, series after series. what a run. he’s a toronto legend

It puzzles me that others still refuse to see this. Healthy Kawhi is not MJ, but certainly Jordan-esque. His game is a sight to behold when he’s rolling
@hennessyblack2121

Style of play, yes. This is MJ 2.0 & the closest we’ve seen of MJ. No disrespect to Kobe. But Kobe was never this efficient on offense or dominant on defense. Kawhi is the Tim Duncan of wings fundamentally speaking & leadership/personality style

With his sheer size , speed , and athleticism, and that line drive laser guided mid range shot , he's very tough to stop , especially with the way he's improve his ball handling and foot work so much from when he first came in the league , initially as a undersized PF. Its crazy , 15th pick , and immediately traded to Spurs for freakin George Hill lol.....If Indiana only knew right? They would've had PG and Kawhi as a tandem about 10 years earlier 😆 At that time , probably would have won a title too! I think possibly the one thing that's held Kawhi back from being held in much higher esteem among the top echelon of players ALL TIME , is how much time he misses due to injury almost every year. I think people are programmed to believe if he was actually THAT GOOD , why isn't he coming out on top dominating the playoffs EVERY year? With some of the very top stars , I sometimes wonder if the reason they don't have greater careers is because maybe their "love for the game" is lacking or non existent? I'm a sixers fan , but I think possibly the one thing that's held back Embiid , is he's a little lazy , isn't a leader , lacking mental toughness , and possibly doesn't have that "alpha" type killer mentality that he's willing to do whatever it takes to win a championship......I think with his size and abilities, Philly would be holding multiple championships if he were doing absolutely everything he could year in year out. I'm not sure if that's Kawhi issue , he seems to be a lot more mentally tough than Embiid , but the way the Spurs divorce happened makes me wonder. Also , if you won a championship in TOR , why not run it back? Seems living situation was more important to him than another potential championship.

@hennessyblack2121 I never thought Kobe was like MJ outside of similar physical traits. I think in a very sick , obsessive way Kobe tried to emulate EVERYTHING MJ did right down to how he walked , talked , and chew gum.....But Kobe was never nearly as efficient, nor the defender or passer MJ was. I'd take a healthy kawhi 10 times outta 10 over a healthy Kobe. Kobe was very selfish player , arrogant , and inefficient, he was a top player , but I think the only reason mj comparisons were made , was because Kobe did everything in his power to emulate the man. I just don't think a MAN who has a strong enough character, and leadership within himself, would EVER try to be anyone but uniquely himself....That always made me look at Kobe as kinda more of a follower or faker , but definitely one of the best of those , if that can even be taken as a compliment lol

Ranking the top 10 title runs by NBA players 1. Hakeem Olajuwon (1995) 2. Hakeem Olajuwon (1994) 3. Dirk Nowitzki (2011) 4. Shaquille O'Neal (2000) 5. Kawhi Leonard (2019) 6. Nikola Jokić (2023) 7. Michael Jordan (1991) 8. LeBron James (2012) 9. Michael Jordan (1993) 10. Tim Duncan (2003) Kobe (2009), LeBron (2016), DWade (2006), and Jordan (1992, 1996-98) are all HMs. LeBron would be number 1 or two if it I were just ranking finals, BUT his Eastern Conference run was pretty weak in both competition he was facing, and his own production.

@@timmytheinventor4746 and Jokic's play off performance was better than Kawhi's. He beat that great Minnesota team with Rudy on defense and Ant Man and KAT on offense. In 2nd round he defeated Phoenix with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker and that Phoenix team was without a doubt better than that Phily team in 2019. In conference finals he defeated Lebron and AD who was easily the best defender in that play off in just 4 games, I wouldn't argue if Lakers were better than Milwaukee or not, but Lakers were really good team in that play off. Than in finals he beat Miami Heat in 5 games. Overall stats also show that Jokic was better player than Kawhi in 2019 so I think he deserves to be over Kawhi, altough I love Kawhi too.

These the games people try to discredit because he didn’t beat the most stacked team in history. Bro was on one from the second he stepped into the playoffs. Mj, bron, shaq, and kd are the only scorers better than him idc. He scores way more easily than people give him credit for. 3rd most points in a playoff run 50% from the field 38% from 3 and just crazy timely buckets all the way thru games. And his scoring has gotten even crazier. Injuries and doc rivers really ruined his chance to be top 10 all time.

And toronto says it's not because of Kawhi that they have a championship and that it was because of Vanvleet. Dumb fans.

Yeah and that Warriors team wasn't fair in 2019. And btw... He was also hurt in 2017, but nobody is talking about that...

@@hristijandimitrovski8664 wym people always bring that up 😂 , he also got hurt in game 1 people act like he already was up 3-1 on GS or something , even if he wasnt hurt i dont see a world where they beat GS in 2017 , 1 half of basketball does not determine the outcome of a series , i could see a 6 game series at most

@@moneyman4740 nobody knows what would happened. Steph Curry was Warriors's best player in that conference finals and I'm sure that Kawhi would be definitely better than him in that series so... I'm not gonna say Warriors would lose, but San Antonio were really good team with Kawhi on the floor. And btw... Kawhi was injured in 2021, 2022, 2023 etc... Nobody knows what would be the scenario right now if Kawhi was never injured. So it is what it is. Kawhi deserved that title in 2019 more than anyone else. From the first round to the finals he was ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS the best player on the floor. Yeah, healthy Warriors would probably win against that Toronto team, BUT THEY WOULD WIN OVER ANYBODY. They would ein over Miami Heat in early 2010s, they would win against San Antonio in 2014 probably, maybe even they would beat Chicago at their best. Healthy Warriors team from 2017 to 2019 was the most unfair team ever.
