3:01 It’s very simple: there was no “almost Toronto” in this situation. OKC was asking for half the young core AND 4 first round picks for PG. That’s a no-go right there. From the Kawhi camp, Uncle Dennis was negotiating in bad faith. Without getting into specifics, he was asking for ways to circumvent the salary cap. The overall cost of trading for PG and re-signing Kawhi was unrealistic. PG is either lying, or truly didn’t know what was happening in the negotiations.

Kawhi basically retired after 2019. He has not been the same player since. He was injured for 3 yrs in a row, missed the entire season 1 yr and most recently couldnt help his team from getting ousted in the first rd of the Playoffs. I think he's close to retirement. He's looking washed up.

JB should have been picked over Kawhi or Booker in the first place. That part is easy to call. From what I've read of the reporting, Derrick White was already selected as an injury replacement as soon as the roster was announced. But way to go, Jaylen, that's a nice way to make friends with potential sponsors, aside from putting your own teammates in an awkward position. That will be an interesting training camp heading into next season.

The NBA itself declared Kawhi to be a top 75 player in nba history, and he is one of three players (afaik) to win finals mvp with multiple franchises, along with LeBron James and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Hes in the hall of fame if he retires tomorrow. Hes in the hall of fame if he retired 3 years ago

As a clippers fan, it’s the least he can do. I was pissed he was even selected and going to play to begin with. He literally just watched his team get eliminated 1st round in the playoffs from the sidelines AGAIN. Lost our second best player for absolutely nothing too. We should’ve traded PG13 to the Warriors and traded Kawhi for assets this season instead of offering a new max contract so we can finally rebuild properly as a franchise. I honestly would’ve liked to keep PG13 and trade Kawhi, I didn’t want him to leave…

None of these older players, especially the injury proned ones should not be playing in the summer. This includes all the old guys really, especially Kawai and Embid. It should just be guys under 25.

if kawhi stayed on toronto, they would have won probably 2 championships during that year he made the team much better and the players improved too, they had the most depth in the entire nba, kyle lowry, pascal siakim, og, powell, vanfleet, ibaka, gasol and the next season without him the made it to 7 games in the semis
