Injuries to top players seem to be a major factor in how a team's W/L schedule goes. Being a top 3 team at the beginning of the season, finishing up as a healthy, top three. team going into the playoffs is not carved in stone.

Still if you give a few teams the benefit of the doubt there’s really only 5 or so contenders. Lets remember before Toronto Raptors won the championship it was always said that Kawhi was going to the Clippers. Also after Paul George was traded to OKC they said he wanted to play in LA. I think the *San Diego / Clippers* angle cannot be underappreciated.... Kawhi live in San Diego, went to university in San Diego, and grew up in east LA but wasn't a Lakers fan but was stuck in the Lakers' shadow now he join the LA / ex-San Diego Clippers -- and George who is another LA hometown boy who was a Clippers fan and played vs Kawhi in SoCal college bball -- and they got a chance to take the Clippers out of the Lakers' shadow Clippers are the real LA team haha.... in a way, Clippers are 2 hometown boys, 2 LA real ones .... whereas top 3 Lakers are Midwest boys _Gone Hollywood_ lol so.... two teams play in Staples now: the *Midwest Lakers* and the *Los Angeles Clippers* hehehe (so at least their name finally makes sense XD)
