Today we are changing out these OEM steel sprockets for a alloy sprocket set and a O-ring stype chain for a non o-ring chain from E.K.
The Non O-ring chain helps with keeping the wheel spining after power has been cut to the wheel more rolling time as seen in the vid.
I change out the sprocket cuase you should change them out with the replacement of the chain anyway so why not go with alloy sprockets.
there is a great weight difference with the sprockets replacement the non O-ring chain dose require a little more love than the O-ring stype chain but the Gold just looks good on the bike and i don't mind the maintnace of the chain before or when i Ride.

Even though this video is old, just wanted to give a big thank you for this video! I put a 14 and 39 on mines and this video helped me a lot with everything. I used a different master-link though... Also don’t sweat the fact that you put it on wrong. It happened to me on my first one and I even cut the chain too short lol so I had to buy another one and redo it. Things happen but the experience you gain from working on your own bike will last forever!

Looking at doing something like this why not break the chain when taking it off using a chain breaker tool? then no need to remove the rear set

If it’s riveted, you still have to cut it like there’s no master link on a stock bike. It’s riveted. Good luck finding that.

I also have ninja400 i leave in israel we have here crazy prices for bikes. So i could afford myself only ninja400 for 11000$ so i want ask question. What will make my bike go faster? Did this sprocket change gives spmething? Maybe change size of the sprockets how its affect the bike? Fuel adjustment, full system exhaust how much power will grow?
@jjmax2007
@jjmax2007 4 жыл бұрын
Umm no the sprocket change was to make the acceleration better. Yes the small the top speed you go the bigger for me the faster you get to 0 - 60 lol there is a change to fuel cause at high way speeds you would be doing of 60 you would be doing 95 depending on the bigger you go but if you go small then it takes longer to get to 60 mph.... the exhaust dose at hp I just never got the chance to dyno the bike after I installed the exhaust.. If you want to see the type of exhaust I installed check out my playlist on my channel for the ninja 400 and other bikes

@@jjmax2007 is it posible to put in front sprocket a little big bigger?as i understand if you change the rear to biger it will afect max speed and slower the accelerration. As i understand its not problem to install full system exgaust. Power comander and open air filter problem its transfer it to the wheel to get actual power

Master link clip is in the wrong direction. That's basic motorcycle 101 stuff. Also, you didn't change the gearing? For real acceleration and anti-gyroscopic performance gains the 415 chain conversion is the way to go + 4 lbs lighter! Your rear wheel will spin for days like a GP bike. Spears and Norton Racing show the gains with the dyno. Anyway, I enjoyed your video 👍

If the gears have the same number of teeth as the OEM ones, what have you gained? You saved 1/2 pound of weight and gained about 0.05 hp. I'm not buying the hype, not to mention those parts are soft, meaning willnwearvout faster than the OEM parts. I hope they were cheap to buy...

Something to consider. The weight difference on a part the engine needs to rotate is different from actual weight savings on non rotational non moving parts.
