Kayak Fishing and Camping Trip on the Potomac River, Brunswick, Maryland to Point of Rocks

Жыл бұрынMy friends and I set out on a solo Kayaking adventure on the Potomac river through western Maryland. We put on the river at Brunswick, Maryland and Paddled downstream about 4 miles to Bald Eagle Campsite along the C&O Canal and Camped and even did some night fishing for Catfish. The next day we paddled out to Point of rocks were we took out. Comment with any questions about the river or camping locations but I will say this again it was a really fun section to be on. Awesome video man. I want to kayak the same thing too. I live in Leesburg so i trying to go kayaking everywhere. It would be so awesome to do that with you man. I love kayaking. I want to kayak from Point rocks to Algonkian Park in sterling. That would be fun to do too. This was a good video buddy. Thanks you for sharing it. Hope to met you on the water man.

Great video! Beleive it or not, I stayed at Bald Eagle Island campsite the same night as you guys. I was the dude in the hammock lol. I remember you guys flying the drone and filming and stuff. Keep up the great vids.

Thank for the videos! My buddies and I are kayaking novices, but I have been using these for adventure ideas in our area. Would you say that the rapids for this segment (Brunswick to Point of Rocks) are no more than Class 1? We are looking to do this casually with camping in June and we all have Sit-on-top yaks not really rated for whitewater beyond that.

There is hardly any rapids from brunswick to point of rocks esspecially in the summer. Nothing worse then class 1 it's a good section for sit on top boats.

Planning a similar trip did you have to pay for the campsite or was it one of the free ones?

The campsite we stayed at which was a hiker/biker site along the C&O Canal was free and first come first serve. I would defintly recommend the section we did it had a good current but no huge rapids. If you want more info about any section on the river just let me know im pretty much an expert from point of rocks all the way west to cumberland.
