I really appreciate your reviews on anything kayak fishing related- lures, equipment, motors and especially suggestions on rigging and ease of use. Now whether I can afford everything- well - nope, but I can save and pick what I think it’s important for me. Now - go catch 🎣 the big one 👍

Thank you Chad… I am a huge fan of yours. Greatly appreciate everything you do. Quick question, do you always remove your torqeedo when driving? I understand it’s pretty easy but i am tempted to leave it on for short trips to the lake and back.

Thanks brother. YES, I take it off 100% of the time. Trust me, as tempting as it may be, that little bracket is not designed to hold the weight of the motor bouncing down the road. I tried it once. It did not end well. Do NOT do it, learn from my mistake.

Makes total sense and can’t thank you enough. I plan to get myself squared away and join KVF. I will never be much of a competitor, but I will be showing support through membership. Also fishing ops sounds amazing. Would love to help you up here in the Minneapolis area if you ever need anything

So which board you using? I think I see the Yakattack orange where the Ketch used to be. I’m rocking the old school KBF Ketch original still but just saw Yakattacks release. Both great companies

Chad I would love to stay with torqeedo but I have the 403 and really want a little more power and quieter and I just can’t afford a new 1103 so I have to go with the NK300

It’s pretty much going to be the same price by the time you add the battery unless you go with a smaller battery with limited range. Just something to consider

Hey Chad , Did your torpedo come with the mount that lets you use your power pole ?

No, that’s something I developed with Ketch. Innovative Sportsman also makes a really good one called the rugged inline mount.

I have a Hobie PA 14. How difficult is the installation?

It’s not bad at all. You will have to install separate foot braces if you want foot steering. Otherwise you can set the motor to run straight and steer with the Hobie rudder system

I've been looking for the aluminum ketch motor mounting plates you have! I haven't found the PWR 129 specific plates on the website! Any help would be appreciated man!

The newest 1080 42v battery is 25ah vs the 36v 60ah of some batteries for the 300 NK. I’m just concerned that I’m going to run out of juice. Does the controller give an idea of estimated mileage left at “X” output? Thanks Chad.

It does for the Torqeedo. It’s not an estimate either, it’s dead on

Its a great motor for sure. IMO though they need to separate the electronics from the batt or add and aux port to add capacity with another battery pack. Otherwise a great product.

I would agree if there was a capacity issue. I’ve never had an issue in a full day of fishing
