I know this video was put out last year but huge shout out to you Shane for sharing your experience with OEX. I literally just dropped my kayak off to Kerry this morning for rigging up a motorguide motor (salt water since i do both) along with the NMEA connections to a new 7" fishfinder. Super excited and I made sure I let them know your video was how I found them. Subscribed... Thanks again!

@@BassThumbsFishing Yeah I'm stoked and after going there and seeing the Bonafides I'm going to put together a fresh water only rig because I have the PA14 right now and it's pretty bulky compared to those.

Thank you! It’s a Bonafide only seat but this was a limited edition kayak so the color can’t be found any more unless it’s sold second party 🙏

Can you assist us with a video on how and what materials you needed to connect your xi3 with your Lowrance.

I will buddy! The quick answer is a NEMA 2000 system will connect it to the plug on the Xi3 and it’ll connect pretty easily. Also some guys add the Lowrance puck to get the north heading a little tighter as well.

@@BassThumbsFishing thanks Shane, I’ve seen a few out there but none are complete. I hear that I’ll need a starter kit in addition to the NMEA 200 and some say you have to start it all up in a specific sequence. I look forward to your video showing us how you did it. Thank brother.

@@freeagentangler5159 no problem the best thing to do is call Kerry at OEX in San Diego (619) 866-6129 he will will tell you everything you need he’s installed a few of them already and has a lot of knowledge about the system.

I have a question on those black paks. Can the rod holders be installed at an angle so the rods are slightly pointed to the rear?

Thanks for doing the Video. That's the first one I have seen rigged up on one of the Bonafide Limited edition Models. I recently purchased the exact same limited edition model and will be picking it up in a week or so. That thing is snazzy. Don't know if I can wait another week, You got me fired up to get mine home and setup now!!

I believe your mph is based on rpm not thrust. An outboard should give you more speed, however options are limited for electric ones. Very nice set-up you have.

Dirty Bay Adventures thanks man! I just read the mph on my fish finder to see my speed. When I had the 45lb thrust motor I got 4.1mph now my 55lb thrust is getting me up to around 4.5- 4.6 mph

@@BassThumbsFishing I have the yakgadget xd crate and an 80 amp hour lithium battery, with my rods on the crate it just barely doesn’t fit in the back. I’m thinking about maybe selling mine and building a new crate/battery combo box, but I sure love the yakgadget crate.

fusion is my dream color, I ended up with grey like your old boat couldn't pass up the deal, I just got done building a loading cart for it because ole girl is heavy lol, looking into a trolling set up your build is killer !

How easy is it to interrupt the steering and take over manually when heading to a waypoint? For instance, if you need to route around a shallow area or obstacle. And how do you steer it?

Bob Gillis there is a manual button you can press at any time. There is a remote on the screen and one that you wear around your neck physically. I’ll be doing a on the water review soon of the nema system working in unison with the motor 👍🏻

What is the rope, used to raise and lower the trolling motor, fastened to on the shaft? It appears something has been added towards the top of the shaft that rotates around the shaft of the motor? I just recently purchased a Feelfree Lure 11.5 V2 and Xi3 and am in the process of mounting it and setting it up. May go with a Garmin UHD 73sv, not sure if that will work with the Xi3 on waypoints though.

I actually have the same question. Doesn’t look like it rotates around the shaft though, looks fixed? I have the same motor with a stow and deploy setup, but always have issues with the retrieval. Did you ever get an answer? Sweet setup here by the way!

Awesome set up. I’m about to up grade from my Ride 115X w/ 30lb Minn Kota mounted in the rear to the SS127 coping your set up. I see you moved up from the 45lb to the 55lb motor. Can you give me pros and cons between the two.

CPhillpott the only differences between the 45lb and the 55lb is that the 55lb comes stock with the gps pinpoint already installed in the motor and the 45lb does not but you can buy the gps pinpoint separately and install it yourself. I have a video showing how to do that one channel. Also the 55lb thrust goes 4.5mph and the 45lb gets about 4.1mph 👍🏻

Will B Bassin I can still fit two Plano boxes in the black pak and under the seat. I’m planning on getting a small container to go in the front hatch to keep any extra tackle.

Such a sick setup. Now I want the Xi3. How heavy is that thing and how has it been so far? Any issues with water intrusion on the steering or motor? And what length shaft is on your kayak? Do you know anyone who's had it mounted on a 2019+ hobie outback? Thanks for the videos!

Thanks man I appreciate the feed back! It’s great overall man no complaints about that motor at all! My shaft is 36 inches which is standard on the Motorguide Kayak Xi3 motor! I don’t know of anyone that has one on that boat.

A little Edit on how to pull up the motor. lol I like the idea of the roap system through the hall and on your left side so you don't have to use your paddle to push it down anymore .. nice try but I caught that bro .. lol

iZeckrom 14 this boat performs best in freshwater lakes and river systems. I haven’t seen anyone take it off shore.

Trey Lashley ya, I hear you I’m going to see how it goes I can still fit a couple boxes and there’s a ton of room under the seat and I’m going to put a bin under the front hatch to hold even more tackle. I might end up putting it in a separate battery box behind the black pak 👍🏻
