One of my favorite catches was a 12' hammerhead. It was one of my bucket list fish. It was before I really learned how to make videos. The pics of it are still in my intro though because it was SO cool. Loved watching you catch one, and I totally related.

Good for you. My hammerhead story didn't end well. After more than 2hrs I never did see it. The captain told me what it was and how long it was. He suggested a taxidermist, 'once in a lifetime' he says. Then I hit a submerged line, a rope with concrete blocks and his face turned white, like we weren't supposed to know what it was. He cut the line. I imagine it was drug smugglers, pretty common around Miami during the 80s. True story

I heard if you flip a shark "on its back" (in the water of course) they go into a weird state and you might have a good chance at unhooking them easily.

There are skip jack to be caught, gulp minnows to be cast into nearby branches, and a backlog of smack that needs to be dished out to worthy recipients. Otherwise, you will be cast into a lake filled only with channel cats and a never ending swarm of jet skis and pleasure boats.
