And sometimes you just misjudge what doesn't mean you're stupid. But that's always the way in life, and you learn from it. And if you do a first descent and push yourself, that's great despite the risk

Wow, two big mistakes and absolute no-gos at once! 1) You see how much scrub and trees are in the water - an absolute nogo to kajak if you love your life. 2) Never go alone in whitewater. Always have a second kajaker or at least some safety people espacially at those dangerous points. You had more than luck my friend!
@mayrbmx
@mayrbmx 5 ай бұрын
I thought I'd land on the tree, but it wasn't, but trees are always in a stream, that's not a no-go. Pretty much everyone drives alone, you hardly get to drive otherwise, that's not a no-go, but it depends on what. Everything went well ;)

@@mayrbmx In my 10 years of intense kayaking i never did a ride alone - even in decent wildwatter. We've had several situations where a helping hand was needed - on decent rivers where we never thought something bad can happen. Or if you got stuck in whirlpool and jumped out of the boat - where somebody catches your paddle or kajak before it goes down the river alone. On critical passages with trees or syphons i always wanted to have some security paddlers with ropes standing by. No risk - more often fun! ;-) But luckily you are up well. Good luck for your next tours!

@@akugel4529 Here many people go alone, which of course means more risk in some situations, rarely something happens and there are many drop and pool streams here so you can usually find your paddle or kayak again quickly :) Thank you very much.

You got bad info, but launching into a drop with multiple, clearly visible strainers…that ain’t on the dood that gave you the bad info. That might be the single worst paddling decision I’ve ever seen, and I had the “pleasure” of watching two beginner boaters with no flat water rolls swim/portage/swim/portage the entire Green back in the early 90s. Sheesh! Glad you are ok, but stop defending this and reassess your decision making processes. People are being blunt because they don’t want you to die under a tree.

I don't understand your decision-making process. You can see the strainer before you start your run. This is a narrow channel in a wooded area. It's going to be filled with strainers, as we can see right after the pool you were lucky enough to drop into before the next drop. If it wasn't for that pool, I doubt anyone would be seeing this video.
