As the summer of 2021 is coming to a close we were still on the hunt for new places and new adventures. We found a spot in Tennessee that looked amazing. The pictures of Pickett State Park depicted sandstone bluffs, a natural bridge to kayak under, miles of trails to hike which peaked our interest. We drove the 3.5 miles to Jamestown, TN to check it out. We were quite impressed with its beauty. Pickett State Park is located in the upper Cumberland Mountains in Pickett County, and is adjacent to the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1934 and 1942 on about 12,000 acres of land donated to the State of Tennessee by the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company. The park offers camping, kayaking and hiking. This Tennessee location is one of the states best hidden treasures and is well worth visiting.

That's amazing place, dark in there for the big trees and boulders of rocks around. Seems like a virgin forest. Enjoy your adventure and keep safe.

I love this State park, started going because of the Night sky and how gorgeous the stars are with such low light pollution. Then ended up finding out how much I love Kayaking and hiking because of this park. Up here in Kentucky, I'm close enough that trips are possible. But far enough that trips do require some premature planning with scheduels and financially saving. But the trips and park is worth every second and every dollar needed. Amazing video, thanks for taking us along for the ride.

Have you been to South Cumberland/Savage Gulf? If so, is it better than Pickett State park? You seem to be the expert on this sort of thing and me and some buddies want to make sure our Fall Break camping trip is the best it can be.

When we went to the Red River Gorge we took a tour of an underground mine by kayak which was really interesting. I do want to go back and check out more of that area.
