Those are midget cars. They are a really important part of American motorsport, and they're also popular in Australia and New Zealand. Imagine an old front-engine F1 car, but way smaller and with a roll cage. Above the midgets you can find the sprint cars, which are bigger with more powerful engines and can have wings. USAC (United States Auto Club) also has a championship called Silver Crown Series, with cars that look like longer sprint cars (without wings): that championship was born in 1971, when USAC decided to take dirt oval races out of the Indycar schedule because the cars for asphalt ovals and road courses had become completely different from the dirt oval cars (imagine a 60s F1 car vs a 50s F1 car).

Not sure if you're aware of this, but you kinda need this thing called money to host a sports event. The only exception to that out of the ones you mentioned is the Super Bowl, but that name actually makes sense on it's own. Like, I hate to be so condescending, but it makes perfect sense. (btw, theres no such thing as the coca cola 500.)

If you're talking about why no one's trying to throw a slider or anything to get a position back. Top 7 Transfer, you'd be stupid if you're pretty well in a transfer spot trying stupid moves to get 1 position. Trying to do something like that will just take you out of a transfer if you make a mistake. Especially when that car passing you is sailing the top and leaving you behind. Same with everyone else in the top 7 running the bottom. Sure you may get a couple more positions by going to the top, but you have bigger chance of your car not working up there and getting freight trained on the bottom.

you're only talking about one female driver, Danica....and MAYBE Jo Cobb. every other female driver has performed well. and Danica was fairly successful in indy car, driving in an oval. Too bad there's no circle tracks!
