Vex originates from late Middle English "vexen" < Old French "vexer" < Latin "vexāre" to shake, jolt, harass, annoy, frequentative of "vehere" to carry, convey. Same way Pikin in Pidgin English and Pickney in patois originates from Portuguese words like "pequeno" and "pequeninho." Blessings and love! 💪🏾🇳🇬😂
