40 years is what I expected it to be. After all, justice is served and he doesn't really seem to be genuine at all. This is a blessing for him spending his life in prison.

There are no life sentences for this type of crime in Kazakhstan. He received max possible sentence, in fact.

Între timp, familiarii lui Saltalan sunt și rămân singurii condamnați pe viață, fără posibilitate de eliberare .. nici după 24 , 60 sau 80 ! Doar victimele nevinovate , Saltalan și familia sa, sunt cei care execută pedepsele irevocabile și definitive la care au fost condamnați de către acest fost ministru...fost infractor dovedit și condamnat la pușcărie 10 ani!.. eliberat în societate după nici măcar 2 ani !

Until men value women's lives there will be ridiculous sentences for murdering a wife, mother, daughter, mistress or a "random" woman. It should be blatantly clear that Kazakhstan does not value the lives of women.

This case brought a lot of pressure to the government to pass a new law so I doubt they’ll let him out. For too long being high-profile worked in his favour, ironically though the fact that he’s so well known means he won’t be able to quietly pay his way out of prison.

Yes. Nukenova, the woman, was just 31. She was a successful, full of potential, beloved woman, and he took her life. 24 years in prison isn't enough.
