Kazakhstan's president has abruptly announced his resignation after 29 years on the job.
Nursultan Nazarbayev has led the Central Asian country since its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
In a televised address, the 78-year old explained that he had made a difficult decision, but didn't give a reason for the move.
While under Nazarbayev the country has prospered, critics say it has come at a cost.

@@ukessex yeah he was a dictator but he still managed to stop hunger, build hospitals and schools almost everywhere for everyone, kept good relationship with other countries and built a strong fundament for our Country

There was no hunger until the soviet regime and the decendant of the soviet regime which is nazarbayevs regime. As a politician he is dead now who doesn't respect his own people and people hate hime more than they hate Hitler. You think hundreds of lives of people who are dead by him are worth having more food on the table than before?
