True… jewelry making seems to be the only art form that survived… architecture, fashion and modern art had all deteriorated.

Probably the very person who ended up with the Romanovs jewels, you know, the last Zsar of Russia Nicholas Romanov who was murdered along with his beautiful family. Such a sad sad tragedy. Always wondered what happened to their jewelry, had to be a priceless collection, some of it dating back to 300yrs or more.
